The technician Fermin Flores came on November the 20th, 2010, a Saturday afternoon, assessed the Kenmore washer (which is listed on his website as one of the brands that they are able to fix) and said that it needed a gasket main tub seal in order to stop leaking water when working.
When I asked if he could get that part, he said yes. He said that he was going to get the part and that he would bring the receipt next time he came because he was not going to charge for the second visit since he was going to do the repair (as indicated on the website: http://www.asapapplianceservices.com/). He said that we were only going to pay for the part as indicated on the receipt, because we had already given him $64.90 for his visit on Saturday.
He then called me on Monday and said that I needed to get the part because they did not want to sell it to him since he was not the owner and that probably there was a recall for the washer. That made no sense whatsoever. I called Kenmore on Tuesday and they told me that they had the part, so before ordering I called Fermin Flores again to confirm that we were talking about the same part and now he said that besides the gasket main tub seal we also needed to order the bearing and that he was going to come but that he could not guarantee the work as advertised on the website. So in other words, he came up with a very different story on Tuesday as compared to Saturday's original analysis where only the gasket main tub seal was needed. He also said that we would probaly be better off if people from the company would come since they were the ones who specialize on those washers, but again, that brand, and many others, are listed on his website with the legend "We Service All Major Brands"
When I called him on Tuesday he had already deposited the money cashing the checks for a total of $64.90 so there is no way we are recovering our money, and he would not honor the promises he verbally made and that are also advertised on the website. Too bad we were a victim of fraud. |
