I ordered 4 boxes of checks from this company on 6/24/11 and I was in need of them quickly. I paid for rush processing in the plant as well as the normal "handling" fee they charge, I opted for UPS Blue 2 day air shipping as I needed the checks urgently (paid the extra $10 over standard ground shipping). Order delivery time was listed as 2 to 5 business days. I checked my order status on 6/25 and I saw that the checks had shipped the previous night.....great job in the factory on printing my checks!!! Here is where it gets interesting (no tracking number provided). I figured I would see my checks Tuesday at the latest, well Tuesday comes and goes no checks so I figure I will give them one more day, get home from work on Wed 6/29 and the checks are here. I figure not too bad they are within the 5 day window. I bring them in the house and look at the package. First they used a soft envelope and all the boxes were smashed up pretty bad but the checks weren't in too bad of shape. Then I see the UPS label and it says UPS GROUND not UPS BLUE which I paid for. If they would have shipped them UPS Blue I would have had them Tuesday at the latest most likely Monday since they process the AIR shipments differently on the weekends. Somebody on the shipping side of things at the factory saw they had time to still meet the drop dead delivery date and decided to ship my order out UPS Ground, effectively pocketing $10 for the company. I paid this money specifically for 2 Day shipping, great you printed the checks super quick (I paid rush processing) and did your job, now someone else decides to VIOLATE the written order that they had stating Blue shipping and changes that to GROUND. The original order said 2 to 5 day delivery, what is wrong with hitting the 2 or 3 day range.... why let it slide to the 5 days?? I paid for it didn't I? I called to complain to the customer service folks and all they kept telling me was you got the order in the 5 day window so it is all good. I told them no...I paid extra for 2 day shipping and rush processing and you only gave me 1 of the things I paid extra for: rush processing. They told me that their system showed 2 Day shipping was what they used, I read back to them the tracking # off the package I had in my hands...how did this ship ground if their paperwork said blue?? Somebody saved their company $$ in shipping and in the process lost a customer. Round and round we went and I finally gave up and told them I would remember this when ordering checks in the future. I will not buy from them again... Buyer beware they will push the limit of what they can get away with legally. |
