| We have been living in an ARC community for a little over a year and let me tell you it has been the worst year EVER!! Starting off when we found the home we wanted it was not ready. They told us it would be ready on a certain day and a month later finally it was ready for us to move in. Prior to moving in the manager stated that there was still some things that needed to be done and they would finish after we got in and settled. Well it is a year later and many of those things still are not done. If we try to conact the manager about them we get a run around story. Now since it has been over a year they are saying they are not going to fix these things because it has been too long. So they avoid fixing things by putting them off and then saying sorry it has been to long. We also have a dog which are allowed in the community, even though the manager hates animals, and a nice fenced yard. We are now being told that our dog is not allowed to run free in our fenced yard which she can not get out of. I have to be outside holding a leash with my dog. WHAT??? Who does that?? I understand a leash if you are walking outside the fence in the park but not in my own yard that is fenced in. I will be charged now $50 everytime I let my dog outside in my FENCED yard to go to the bathroom or just run. She is a big dog and likes to run. Animal control even said they are nuts and that they prefer a dog to be able to be in a fenced yard and able to run freely. Seems like animal neglect and abuse to me. I will not follow this rule and am sure I will be charged triple my lot rent a month. The maintence is terrible too. The yards in the park are not maintained and look very trashy. The roads that run through the community are terrible and broken. They need to spend more time worrying about trash, holes, and cleaning this place up then picking on people with dogs in a fenced yard. The lot rent seems to go up all the time too. It has gone up $15 in the year we have been here and have been told it has gone up $100 in five years. Even with us paying more for this terrible life experience they can't seem to fix the problems and the streets around here. Lastly they have a swimming pool! Oh but can you ever use the thing umm no. If there is rain in the forecast it is closed. Regardless if there is a cloud in the sky. Many times last summer we went to take our kids swimming and to our surprise the pool was closed more often then not. We would call and the management would state that they are predicting rain. It was a hot summer, many 90 degree days but it would rain at 10pm so the pool could not be open during the day since the rain was coming later that night. Also you can't use the pool if you are not caught up on all the rent. Moral of this story stay away from ARC. The managers are terrible and mean (Our manager has even threaten people many times), Corporate never returns a call ( I have left 6 messages in the last two weeks and never one call back), and the only thing you will ever get out of living in an ARC community is the worst years of your life. STAY AWAY!!! |
