This company calls me and tells me that I owe money to a payday loan company. They then threaten to have me jailed if I don't pay. They have also threatened some of my relatives. Beware of this caller.

For almost a year now I have been getting phone calls from American Legal Services. Someone allegedly took out a payday loan using my phone number. I have told them more than 100 times that I do not know the person, that he does not live in my house hold, and that they need to stop calling me. They call me Sunday - Saturday up to 10 times a day. In 2 1/2 days I got 23 calls from this company. I have had repeated messages left on my answering machine threatening legal action against the individual that allegedly took out the loan. The messages tell Michael Tribbet that he needs to get a lawyer, that he is going to go to jail, that his social security card is going to be taken away, that they are going to call his employer, and that they are going to garnish is wages. I have been called a lazy America, and told to shut up an listen. Several of their calls have bordered on sexual harassment. They use a CA based phone number, but the number is invalid. They have repeatedly refused to give me their actual phone number, address, or fax me a copy of the alleged loan. They told me that I can clear the matter up and get them to stop calling if I send them a copy of my drivers licenses, social card, and bank account information, OR I can give them my credit card information and they can deduct $2000 from my credit card account. They are based out of India, have heavy accents, and use a different first and last name every time they call. They told me that the alleged loan was with Cash Partners America, Online Payday Loans, and Cash America. There are dozens of complains about this company on the internet. I have blocked the numbers that they use 8 times, but they have gotten wise, and they now blocked their number. Changing my phone number is not an option. As a public servant representing the citizens of Florida, I hope that there is something that you can do about this matter. I should not have to be accosted in my home on a daily basis. I talk about everything from the weather to what I plan to eat for dinner. I have thrown them off their game, and they have started to get really frustrated with me. Their conversations have gotten louder and louder. I figure that they are going to call me anyway, so I might as well have some fun with them. |
