Well, it appears at though AEHI, NC is STILL up to its "old practices." What astounds ME is that not a single ambulance-chasing lawyer has agreed to taking this matter on as a Class Action suit!! How many screwed-people do they need to have, before they decide it will be worth their while??!!! I count five ( 5 ) submissions on this RipOff site, and those are ONLY the ones that have actually FOUND the site and filed a complaint!!!
My wife & I were hurriedly bamboozeld into buying the AEHI "experience" back when the cost was still $5,000 (1998-1999).Mr Pinkerton was one of the lead "pushers." Same course of events happened to us! But,WE spent in excess of $20,000.00 over the next few months trying to "make it work." When we were arriving at our drop-dead date, we began to receive "notices" from AEHI that our time was about to expire, and if we did not acquire a piece of property PRONTO, and order a house package, we would not only forfeit our "dealership" (BIG Joke, there!), but, our $5,000.00 as well! I was barely starting in the military, back then. so my entitlements were not all that stout. But, we managed to get the monies together, and dropped ANOTHER $5,000.00 ~ just so we wouldn't lose our first $5,000.00
Same story. Time expired, and everything basically petered-out. I asked for an extension, and was given 90 days. I had quite a few leads, but, when issues began to arise (like the "owners" having to be their own "contractors" and be responsible for building the house THEMSELVES!), potential sales dropped way off to nothing!! I live in Northern Virginia, and was traveling as far away as Baltimore to see "clients!" I STILL have all the paperwork & "pending contracts."
We tried as hard as we could to get AEHI to "do the right thing," but, were met with "too late... I told you so's...etc"), and unmitigated denial / refusal to return above said monies.
It might be news worthy to note that Mr Pinkerton has already had to give an account for his deceitfulness, as he passed away in 2005 and met his Maker. Sandy Tomberlin, who claimed his hands were tied when I called,is no longer with the company ~ as are a host ofOTHERS (whose names appear on my worthless "contract").
I contacted AEHI just last week (after waiting overTWO years for their "board to make a decision in my case"), and was told to send them a copy of my contract with the portion UNDERLINED that stated that my success would be contingent upon my being able to find financing or a piece of property. There IS no such "verbage," per se ~ only the incredibly empty "promises" of a bunch of deceitful men who have either moved on in life, or are dead!!
I am more than willing to join ANYONE in pursuing a Class Action suit against AEHI ~ IF there was an attorney, out there, who was worth half his weight in salt. But, I doubt you can find one . . . It's not worth their while..... it's not LUCRATIVE enough to budge them off their letigeous Asses.
One of life's harsh lessons: "If it isn't written down, it never happened, nor was it witnessed, , nor was it ever said!!"
