American Education Services AES, AES Refusesd to apply my payments to my account Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

My student loan was sold to AES a few years ago. When this happened, I was contacted and set up automatic withdrawals in order that I may pay off my loans. I set this up, and have made my payments on time since (its easy when its automatic). Every month, I receive confirmation through email that my payments have been posted to my account, but it only included the payment amount- it did not include the load amount, or the balance. I found it unusual, but not alarming. Given the payments I have been making, and the amount of the loan, as of January of this year, I only had a few hundred dollars left to pay off. I contacted AES in order to find out how exactly how much I had left, and was told that I have never made any payments to them, and that my account is delinquent. I was unsure how this could be, as I have made years worth of payments, all of which were on time. Since then, they have not taken out anything from my automatic withdrawals, and have sent me many late notices regarding my account. Furthermore, all of their correspondence reflects the original loan amount, as if I have never made any payments. I have made several attempts at resolving this, but they are unwilling to fix this issue. Nor have they given me any explanation how the thousands of dollars I have paid them have not been applied to anything.
