| This company is SLIMY! I lived in Heritage Place for 5 years and was a model tenant, paid my rent early (until I was told not to because it was 'annoying' since they only went to the bank once a month and would have to keep my cheque around) and was even friends with the landlord's son. My apartment flooded with black grease from when they were cleaning the pipes and I had to sleep with LOUD industrial fans for a week then after they shampooed the carpets they did nothing for MONTHS and I had black stains leaking into the dining and living room. NO compensation or rent adjustment. Once that was fixed, thick rubber floor trim was falling off and the ceiling in the bathroom was peeling apart (nothing was done for almost a year or even when I moved out). I purchased a condo and was excited. I asked Sue (the manager)'s assistant Karen if I could move out a couple of months early - because when I walked in I was told "YOU don't TALK to Sue. You talk to US." She had my file on her lap and said after I'd told her about the problems and being a great tenant for so long, she'd put it through. I came in a week later and she forgot - called the landlord and told her to let me out and slide it past Sue. After cleaning the apartment for almost 2 days, the landlord says I'm not getting my damage deposit because I'm leaving early so they keep it. ?? I said no, no - Karen assured me as long as I cleaned really well I'd get it and everything would be fine. She said I'd need to speak with her on Monday. I call Karen and she won't answer. Finally picks up on the 3rd call and says I'm getting a letter in the mail and hangs up on me. I go to the office and she screams at me to get out, says I'm a liar and if I don't leave she'll call the cops (I mean FLAILING arms, storming around and yelling at me). I'm freaked out in shock, crying, telling her I don't understand what's wrong and she says she NEVER said I could leave. I said KAREN - I came in here TWICE to see you! You called while I was here to say to let me out! She goes WELL - how am I supposed to remember you?? YOU should have kept better track! Told me to get out and return the key before she charged me $1,000. I went next door crying - after being told to get out several more times anytime I'd try to speak - and gave the key to the maintenance woman who shook her head feeling bad for me. I emailed Sue what happened and how I was treated and she stuck by Karen's lies, did nothing to help me and basically said well, it was my fault for coming in unannounced and not making an appointment (ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!) and I 'chose to ignore the rules and abandoned my suite" and "didn't have anything in writing." They stole my damage deposit. 2 years later......I had an 802 credit score - PERFECT - and am told today there is a collection from FIRESIDE MANAGEMENT that was put on my record May 16th of THIS YEAR! From 2009?? For $969?! I don't owe anything and NEVER received any calls, emails - but they were allowed to suddenly put it on and ruin my credit. I sent Sue an email enraged and horrified and have not received a response or explanation. ***DO NOT LIVE HERE***. These people are shady and their behaviour is unprofessional, immature,degrading and disgusting. I've never been treated the way I was treated by them in my LIFE. |
