We've been taking our animals to the Amanda Animal Hospital on and off now for the passed couple years. We always thought they were a bit pricey, but they allowed us to do payment plans. But beware... if an emergency pops up, and you still have a remaining fee, they will NOT see your animal until it is payed up. Your animal could be hours away from death, and they won't care unless you don't owe them any money. They won't tell you anything over the phone, and their facility is dirty. We took our mom cat and her two kittens in to get some terramycin for their eyes. They have allergies (pollen) which makes them water. Let's keep in mind that these kittens were perfectly healthy prior to taking them in... and 4 days later they were deathly sick. One of which died today from it... the other, extremely close. The day that we noticed they were sick, we called them and told them. They told us that they would have the doctor call us back. We called at noon... they never called back. We called back at 6pm, and they once again said that they'd have someone call. The doctor never called us until after 8pm. She told us if they were still sick, to bring them in the next day. Next day? they were still sick. We called and asked them if there was any possible way they could add the new bill to the old one. They always get paid on time. That's never been an issue. They told us that they wouldn't, and that we would have to pay the 117$ of the previous vet visit (the one where they caught the cold from), and THEN we could bring them in. We ended up just taking them anyways to pick up some antibiotics. they also charged us 40$ for a 15$ antibiotic. They never even saw them. we just paid for them, and they told us the dosage at the front desk. They told us to give a 1/2lb kitten 1/2 of 1ml. I'm sorry, but I think it was too much. I think that's probably what got him. They wanted us to give the 1/2lb kitten the same dosage as the 1 1/2lb kitten. We were told that that's the dosage for ALL kittens no matter their size. Sorry, I don't believe that. They were also rushing us out of there because they didn't want anyone seeing that they wouldn't treat them. I'm praying to God that it's not to much for the other kitten. I'll go ahead and say this. DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS TO THIS CLINIC!! They only care about your money, and when you owe them money, they don't care about your animals. Kelsie from Lancaster, OH |
