Allstate Insurance They twisted words to fit the situation. Internet |

Allstate Insurance backpedals to cover up their lies! I opened a claim with my homeowners insurance (unfortunately it was with Allstate) back in September 2011. They denied me over the phone before they even (or i even) knew what was wrong. I called them as the plumber was under my house to let them know water was in my crawl space. They immediatley said "the plumbing is obviously old therefore its not covered." When my plumber told me the plumbing was pretty new (within 5 years) Allstate said "well obviously the leak has been going on for some time" so once again denied. The plumber informed me that the amount of water under the house looked like it could be from one 15 minute shower. I called Allstate back and gave them this information. They told me that the the only way it would be covered is if the problem was "SUDDEN & UNEXPECTED" I told them it was sudden and unexpected, I also let them know that a cable guy had been down there a day or 2 before the water damage and he didnt notice any leaks or water. It went down hill from there!!! It was voicemail tag for days on end, and when I was finally able to get my rep on the phone she was rude, spoke over me and just kept telling me the claim was denied because the situation was not considered SUDDEN & UNEXPECTED! I asked to speak to her boss Darren. What a mistake! Darren was like talking to a movie version of a used car sales man! I kept driving home the obvious, like what part of this situation is not sudden or unexpected? Then I told him about the conversations I had with the other reps that said things like "OBVIOUSLY THE PLUMBING IS OLD" when it obviously was not! He said those conversation never happened! After going round and round for 1 1/2 hours with me he decided he would send someone out (thank god! thats what i had been asking for since the first phone call) They didnt send an adjustor... They sent a leak detection company. Guess what... I had the leak repaired the day I had the problem! What can a leak detection company find 3 months after the fact? Nothing! Once again the claim has been denied because there is no leak! Planning on sending a letter to the CEO and then contacting an lawyer! |

in you policy with Allstate crawlspace leaks are covered as long as the pipe that burst was above ground and the actual structure of the home (sub floor, floor joist, insulation, hvac, moisture barrier)was damaged |
