All You Can Move Once movers arrive they refused to move me unless I agreed to pay them more for items already under contract Dallas, Texas |

On Saturday 10/8/2011 I contracted with All You Can Move (a local Dallas, TX moving company). This was the 2nd time that I used them. The first time i was treated great so it made sense to use them again 2 years later. When the movers arrived (even though they were being paid by the HOUR) as per the contract they refused to move any of my furniture, possessions unless I had to agree to the following terms: A. I had to pay extra for an additional 20 foot move (The stairs were closer but why ask them to move me down from the 4th floor via the stairs so I chose the elevator which was 20 feet further). They were also being paid byt he hour so the bit longer distance would figure in additional time and therefore an additional dollars to book me. B. They refused to wrap ANY of my (very expensive) furniture in blankets. I wasn't asking for bubble wrap. Just a standard blanket to protect them during the move. They said that it was going to cost me $15.00 per item that would be blanketed even though it was expressed in my contract that such blankets would be free and under contract. Most of the bedroom items were never blanketed and were all scratched and the few items that they chose to blanket the corners were all scratched from being moved on their sides. C. The movers were not going to let the company share the wealth of this move. To be to the point they had me move my things with them, used their "tip" to extract all of these unnecessary charges and kept the $ all to themselves. I was charged $400 ($300 for the move and their scam tip was another $100). On my contract they listed my copy for $300 but what they turned in was $250 on the company copy. When I called the company they basically kept putting me off and told me I had no recourse. If you enjoy having movers come as contracted however when they arrive extort additional monies for already contracted work and force you to move with them and scratch all of your expensive furniture then All You can Move it for you!!! While it bothers me what th movers did to me it bothers me even more how this company does business and condones this type of behavior. They also claim that they have an excellent rating with the BBB but if you do some quick research you will see that's far from the trurth!!!
