Alice Russell of muscle car city is dishonest and rips off alot of customers! I litterally have 10 that I am in contact with right now. Alice ripped me off of 10, 000 thousand dollars cash 6000 in new oem parts and destroid my cars-stripped them etc...Anyone who has had problems with Alice russell of muscle car city please contact me at . I have collected about 10 people so far and have parcial info on 4 others please join us in trying to put her out of business ( she is not the definition of FREE ENTERPRISE our forfathers would be turning over in there graves at the sight of Alice russell. I have 3 people out of country so far and glad to hear from all-I will eventually go to the district attorney with all of my stories and evidence. | I met Alice Russell at Pomona swap meet and found her to be very friendly and knowledgeable about restoration work. I brought my 67 mustang to her shop to be restored. I then was browsing the internet and read all the negative feedback about her and her company. I panicked and called her right away. She explained her problems with a man named David English and assured me everything would be okay. She did a great job in a timely fashion on my mustang and i am very pleased. I do not believe these reviews and that was not my experience with her. |

Absolutely trust the scam reports on this lady, it's absolutely true. It's also tru that David English is the gentleman determined enough to pursue her. .Here's my own story, you make up your mind..I'm sure there will be a reply to it but the evidence so overwhelming even if she does reply, it's not gonna change what happened to me.
My name is Roman Precechdel. I have purchased 1955 Buick in the fall of 2012 and needed parts. I found an ad on local craigslist, I called and went to Riverside and met up with Alice. She was very friendly and very nowleagable about classic Buick and she gave a great deal on really hard-to-find parts. I was impressed. She also gave me, and this is very important to note, a false last name - Roberts, not Russell.
Several weeks later, I was contemplating whether or not I should keep my Buick at my mechanic's shop {mustang guy} and was considering Alice since she sounded very competent. I went and checked online if there were any complaints as far as dissatisfied customer etc and it all checked out {of course, with a false name } so I towed the car to her shop to check what's with motor {it has not been running for many years}.
Next day, the engine was out, completely disassembled, many parts cleaned and painted ...overall very impressive start of the process, I was super happy. Great work...It was determined that the motor needed rebuild and I left $1000 deposit for the $3000 complete job..
About a week later, I got a call from Alice, complaining about slowing business and she needed another deposit just to get her over the end of the month. At that point, the she was making great progress and it looked like the engine was going to be build within 2-3 weeks so I gave her another $1.500 for a total of $2.500 . She gave a me a nice receipt with detailed description and it all seemed legitimate. This was in November 5th 2012.
From that day forward, I did not see Alice until February 2013, not because of lack of me showing up the her shop every few days but for he avoiding me. Not only she did not touch the motor at all, she locked the shop's gate, put a pittbull to guard it and was nowhere to be found. Occasionally she'd return my phone call explaining this, that and the other, at one point even claiming that she has cancer and I felt for her.. This was a time when my own mother was going trough a recurring benign brain tumor diagnosis so I was trying to be sympathetic but the longer it took, the more suspicious I became.
I had a friend who is an investigator for the district attorney in my county and I asked him to look her up. Her name came out clean {Alice Roberts}. But when checked her phone record, the name on it Was Alice Russell. Once he checked that, all the scam report and Ripoff reports came out. I knew right then and there, she's a cheat!. A fraud, garbage, lowlife despicable woman... This was January 2013. Not only she took my $2500, she broke my motor to pieces and she also held my whole car hostage.
Knowing who I was dealing with, I started to push gently in order to salvage the car and the motor in boxes before pushing further. I was able to recover the car under the argument that I could work on it whil she's building the motor. Took me 2 weeks from her agreeing on me taking the car to when I actually was able to pick it up. Meanwhile, she still had a chance to finish what she started and it would all be forgotten but she did nothing..
Then, another 3-4 weeks later, when the motor has not been touched from November 5th 2012, I showed up there with my friend investigator and I was able to catch her at the shop. The gate remained closed the entire time, me on one side, her and a mechanic and the pitbull on the other. I asked her when is the motor going to be done, she said soon. We had a heated exchange for a little bit and I asked her point blank what her last name is. She said, nice and loud "Roberts". I told her I had reason to believe that's not the case and we left. What she didn't know but was to find out real soon, that I had a hidden camera on me and I recorded the entire conversation on video with her claiming to be someone else.
When I got home, I took an frame from the video, where she's standing behind the bar gate and made a picture of it. I then emailed her that I knew everything about her past and that I knew she falsified her identity in order to cheat me out of money. And that I had it on video. Attached was the picture from video with the title: "How fitting, you behind bars!". I threatened her with not only civil action but criminal since she falsified her identity and I sent it. This was in March 2013
To my surprise she quickly replied threatening me with legal action and every empty threat in the book to which I replied 'go ahead, make my day'. and gave her an ultimatum - give me my motor back and all my parts and all my cash by Monday/7days or face legal consequences. On Tuesday, she called and said she'll have everything for me by the deadline...
I showed up there on Monday, she did not have it but she did bring me the motor and parts saying that she emailed me explaining the cash will be ready later. Needless to say I did not receive any emails about that but at least I had my motor and my project could be continued.. She did promise to have the cash by Thursday that week. I reluctantly agreed. On Tuesday and Wednesday she called me assuring me not to pursue any legal actions and to wait until Thursday. Thursday came, she send one of her helpers to my location with a cashiers check. We took it to the bank, I asked them to verify the funds are legitimate and when I cashed it, I signed an agreement saying we are finished and done with and that was the end.
Very important to note that she could've give me cash and I would never know her true identity. But, to my surprise, she gave me a cashiers check. The name on it was nice and big: ALICE RUSSELL {I explained the situation to the bank teller and she happily made me a copy}. I still have all the documents from this ordeal and would gladly confirm the accuracy of this report. Alice might have a reply but I have all the proofs plus the video!
In the end, she caused me tremendous stress at a time when my own mother was fighting for her life, but I was able to recover every part she kept plus some extras plus almost all my cash except $500 - she did after all, cleaned and prepped some of the engine parts...
You go ahead and make up your mind but the fact that she had the knowledge and could actually do the job but choose not to, speaks volumes about what type of character Alice Russell is. |
