I took my daughter to this so called professional braiding salon for micro braids. I called 2 days before to make the appt. She went in on sat (4-9-2011). I explained to the lady what she was getting, micro braids confirmed the price of $200. Now take into account this is not her first time getting micros and I have gotten them for years. NOT ONE time did the lady who was doing her braids say anything about they only do micros in the front, around the sides and the back of the neck and then in the middle they put big box braids. ( I have pictures) I didn't realize it was such a mess until my daughter wanted to take it out of the ponytail. I took her back on Tue. After school to find out what was up, well she ( the owner) explained that that's how (THEY) do micro's and that if you want the whole head done it is $60 more for a total of $260. Something they did not explain when I called or when I asked the price in the store. They never even explained that she would have to wear her hair in a ponytail all the time because they do what I feel is a half ass job. In all my years of getting micro's I have never seen them done like this. I asked my daughter what she wanted to do she said she would keep her money and take her business elsewhere. I also had an appt with them I canceled it and went elsewhere after I saw my daughters hair. And for anyone considering micro's please don't let this one shop that doesn't seem to take pride in their work discourage you. I looked around and of the 3 other shops I showed my daughters hair too before I got mine done to make sure they don't do this NONE, I repeat NONE of them do, and they all charge $200 (the same as this so called professional shop) and your braids are the same size throughout and you don't have to always wear it in a ponytail. |
