Air Quality Control Agency installed a radon mitigation system in our home in December 9, 2011. They guaranteed getting our radon levels below 3.9 pci/L and they said they would get the levels below 1 pci/L if I chose fan max (Pay $195 extra). They said they are the largest radon company in USA, and will take care their customers, Based on their promises, we chose them to put a radon system in our home. We paid extra $195 for the fan max, because we are using our basement every day, we want the level as low as possible. After they installed the system, we found out the fan was very noisy(not air flow noise), and not moving much air out, we ran a carbon radon detection test as they requested and the results came back higher than 3.9 pci/L, We called them many many many many times. They said we should let the fan run more time to get the level down, and they said they can do anything about the noise. My wife and I even could not sleep because the noise and vibration. After a week, our digital radon detector (same as they are selling on their website) is consistently giving higher than 3.9pci/L readings. Then we called them, and they said the level will go up and down depending on the weather, but they guaranteed getting the level below 3.9 pci/L, and 1 pci/L with fan max! We had a big argument on the phone with Matt and Zak, and then they charged us $30 for a fan speed control to lower noise. We paid extra $195 to get a powerful fan, now we have to pay another $30 to lower the fan speed! What a joke! When we got the speed control, we found out it worth no more than $5. Then we called them again, but they said they cannot do anything more for me, after another huge argument, they finally send a tech, and said they will charge $149 if the tech cannot find any problem on the system. The tech came and said there was an error, he exchanged different fan with no charge. After couple days, we found the new fan start shaking, and make our house much noisier than the previous fan. The digital radon detector shows 3.4pci/L, sometimes higher than 4, still much higher than 1cpi/L as they promised. We paid around $1000, got a non working system with a shaking noisy fan, but still have high radon level!!!! They used very thin PVC pipe, and made a hole in my wood siding, instead the brick wall, I guess the wood siding is easier to make the hole, the pipe connecting with our wood frame that makes our whole house noisy!! We hope this company can contact us and solve this problem. If you have radon in your home, do not use this company; go with a local state certified company. I believe that this company is fraudulent.
