SMS Supercars SMS Signature Cars Trail of unpaid bills...they write fraudulent checks, continuously lie! Corona, California |

We provided work for SMS Supercars/Steve Saleen. Their terms at the beginning of our relationship were Net 30 days. Their first couple invoices were 72 days past due after forcing us to discount the already discounted price. While we were still working on one job, they had us pickup a complete vehicle to paint. We delivered the current job we had been working on and were promised payment within 30 days. We told them that we would not start any paint work on the new vehicle until we were paid for the last job. That payment was not received for 65 days. After we received that payment we started work on the vehicle. This time we informed them that we would not deliver the vehicle without payment, due to their extremely slow payment. In the current state of our industry it is an extreme hardship to severely discount the work for them and have to wait several months to be compensated. They agreed to the new terms. We had the vehicle for several months after this waiting for color approval from SMS Supercars. We were finally given a color to paint the car. When we completed the vehicle, we delivered it to SMS Supercars at their Corona facility. The vehicle was inspected and agreed that it was absolute perfection. They made us wait about an hour before they would give us a check. The following day, our bank informed us that they placed a stop payment on the check. When we called them about the issue, they said the customer had cancelled the order because we took too long. We explained to them that the blame was not on us, they gave us the run-around for several months before giving us a color to paint the car. They agreed and said they would "figure it out". After speaking with someone at SMS, they informed us that the stop payment was placed because they didn't have enough money i their account to give us a check for what was owed. We called the following day after not receiving a call back from them, we were able to get a hold of Rod. Rod told us the vehicle had already been delivered to the customer on the east coast and they were waiting for payment. There is no possible way that could have been true , seeing as when we delivered the car it had nothing inside of it, no motor, no interior, lights, trim...zilch. The next time we called, we got a hold of Molly Saleen, she told us that Steve was trying to "save the deal" and in fact the car had not been delivered. If Steve was able to "save the deal" then we would get paid. The continuous lies were getting overwhelming at this point and they just continued. Needless to say, we still have not been paid. We have filed a court case which has since been postponed by SMS Supercars. We cannot fathom why this company would treat others the way they do. We are all in the same industry and should all be working together to help each other and our industry grow and succeed. They are going from shop to shop, burning each one as they go. Pretty soon there will be no more shops to turn to. We will all be out of business and it will be at the hands of SMS Supercars and Steve Saleen. It is a crime what they do and there should be justice for us and each shop they have screwed! |
