After10 Studios, Inc. After10 Breach of contract New York, New York |
11th of Sep, 2011 by User830772 |
I hired After10 Studios to develop an iPhone, iPad, and android mobile application and website for me in April 2011. Our contract was for 150 days. About 2 weeks before the end of our contract date, After10 has told me that they will be unable to complete the project, that it's more complex than they could have ever imagined, and that they really have no idea when they will be able to deliver my products. I have paid them $40,000 of a $60,000 contract and I have a few pictures of what the iPhone app is supposed to look like. That's it. I do not have a prototype, graphics or wireframes for the website of iPad and android apps, etc. I have contacted them repeatedly, tried everything on my part to work with them, including hiring two outside graphic designers to provide graphics because the graphics After10 provided were thrown together in minutes by unexperienced designers. I have addressed my concerns with the CEO who has passed me on to the director of operations who has also expressed his disappointment in the performance from their company in regard to my project. Not only has this company taken a lot of money from me, they have delivered practically nothing in 5 months. |

I am a past employee of after10.
While I was still working there I saw many clients being treated as you have been.
I feel really bad for you, investing into someone like him.
He burns everyone, employees or clients.
He will play with the money and have no regard for his actions.
He is a spoiled rich boy that does not understand consequence.
Good luck to you |

I've performed work for After10Studios, and your experience with the company mirrors mine. I also had to deal with missed deadlines and money issues.
From a worker's point of view, I was only given a vague description of what I was to build. Every time I turned something in, there was (unexpectedly) more work to do on it. At least twice I had to rebuild the entire thing due to these changes. Also, parts of the project After10Studios were supposed to do weren't done on time, and the whole project hung in limbo.
After finally delivering the project months overdue, I had to nag the company thru emails and phone calls to receive my payment. It took them about 3 months for them to cut me a check. This was a big loss all around to me as the work was not as described, and I lost out on other projects while waiting for After10Studios to get their act together long enough to tell me what to build.
I don't recommend anyone work for After10Studios, or that anyone hire After10Studios to perform work for them. The company has issues at the highest levels. The "he" mentioned by Ggtvg00 must be the CEO, Mohamed Alkady. What I gathered from my limited exposure to the After10Studios employees is that he routinely abuses the trust people place in him. My months long struggle to be paid for services rendered is enough confirmation for me.
Steer clear of Mohamed Alkady. |

I was hired by After10 to source candidates for multiple openings at their company. Essentially, the owner closed the company and filed for bankruptcy and didn't pay the $22k fee that was due. It seems as if the owner has a horrible reputation based off of the things I have read. Blows my mind he is able to get away with this! |

All the above accounts are true.
Mo has laid waste to many clients and his own contractors and staff. He has no compunction about lying directly to you, whether it be about getting paid or following through with work you've already paid for. This is his scam - he starts a company, performs the only way he knows how (dishonestly), pisses everyone off (which is why he maintains legal counsel – 4 lawyers, I hear), bankrupts the company, and begins again. This is his ego-driven cycle, and he'll never have a shortage of potential clients who are hungry for a fast-talking, seemingly competent tech-savvy twenty-something hot shot who promises exactly what they want, offered for a song (Mo never knows what to charge, always charges too little, clients fall for that). He's a talker. People fall for his "charm" ALL THE TIME! He spins his velvety web of scam. "The check is in the mail." Sure it is, Mo.
His ego prevents him from working for anyone else, where he'd actually learn how to conduct business. He's doing everything wrong, but will not see it. He truly thinks he has done no wrong, and the calamity of After 10 and his previous business, Konneckt, inc. – he blames everyone but himself. He's a bull in a china shop. He's an infant in a world of adults. Woe to all those who will come after us, his battered, abused, cheated masses. We grow in number every year, because he is allowed, via his LLC shield, to continue to perform in this way. LLC protects the cheaters. Watch out.
If you're one of the smart ones who are doing research *before* doing business with Mohammed Alkady, and stumble upon this post and the thread over at Complaintsboard dot com, you now can consider yourself informed. If you still choose to do business with Mo thinking he'll treat you any different, we'll see you back here in a matter of months. This will be only thing you can bank on, when it comes to Mo Alkady.
He's now serving as an instructor at UCLA's extension program. They have no idea...
