I have been through one heck of a journey with Adair Solar. We are not the only ones. We know of at least two others that have gone through a horrible journey with this company. We actually have correspondence from these others as well as Adair admitting to another in Peoria. The two that we have correspondence from have now been silenced with some type of "NO TELL" contract. We do not wish to be silenced and hope someone will hear our story and help us regain a portion of this bad deal Adair has sold us. This journey includes SRP rebates and Government Tax rebates too! We purchase a package deal from Adair on 6/8/2011. The package included Solar water heater, Kvar unit and duct sealing. I have all the contracts and sales pitch estimate paperwork etc.. I also have emails from Adair and the two other victims of this oversold fraudulent deal. The sales pitch was that the 3 together would save us 30% on the electric bills and the system would virtually began to pay us back in 4 years. I have attached the contract which states they will pay the difference of unsaved electric up to 30% in the first 12 months. It also says they will do whatever it takes to help us reach the 30%. They breached the 12 month clause by insisting we do a 4 month period of turning the system off to see if the electric bill goes down. Which it did as soon as the system was turned off. So we do not have 12 months of use of the product for them to pay the difference. When we gave feed back that we did not want to do this, (we just wanted the faulty product removed or replaced) they sent us a letter saying we were not complying with the contract by letting them test the system. They then told us we were breaching the contract. They mentioned doing things like adding additional attic insulation but never followed through. They wanted to have someone come to our home and test our air condition/heating system that had been off for over 60 days. That was one of their stall tactics. They emailed us that the man in charge of the solar portion of their business was not doing his job and they fired him. He cost them tons of money. Now our 4 month test period is over they are telling us they will remove the KVAR and refund us 450.00 of that cost. They refuse to replace or remove the solar water heater system. We purchased this whole package for around 10,000. Since the first 60 days of these products being installed on our home we have tried to get resolution. All we have gotten is the run around unanswered questions and stall tactics and false hope. We contacted them about 45 days after the install because we noticed a dramatic increase to our electric bills. This began a journey of false hope, excuses, stall tactics and what I see as a breach of contract. We realized about 3 months in that we were starting to get the run around. They began to change out pieces of equipment for smaller ones. They asked to obtain audits from SRP, they sent private auditors. They forced us into a 4 month test phase which kept them from having increases to pay out for 4 months. They literally bought time by paying for audits and paying the bill on the unit while it was in test mode. Now they are trying to buy back the KVAR unit at a rate less than its cost in order to offset some of what they have paid out. Please help us! We need to get others that have been scammed involved. We need to stop them from doing this to any one else! |
