Amazon.com re-seller

First off, this is mostly my own fault for not doing more research and without reading the multiple paragraphs of fine print...so BUYER BEWARE!
I was purchasing a Precious Moments figurine for a family member for a birthday. (I am not familiar with Precious Moments but the family member collects them.) I went on Amazon.com and searched. The product came up with this re-seller. The price was extremely expensive (nearly $200) but it was something the family member really wanted.

I had more than 30 days until the birthday in question. I purchased the figurine and waited. The figurine was not shipped for 30 days. I contacted the re-seller and inquired why it was taking so long. I was referred to the "fine print" which indicated that they (Action Packaged, Inc.) had up to 30 days to ship any order. This was entirely my fault for not reading the fine print.

Then it was shipped 3rd class, ground. (I did not purchase expedited shipping as I had ordered it with more than 30 days lead time.) The package, after shipment, took 13 days to arrive. The birthday was completely missed.

When I presented the gift, I inquired how much comparable figurines sell for. The answer was $60.

I began to researching other websites and found that, yes, everywhere else this exact figurine was available for less than 1/3 of what I had paid and I would have had it within a week.

The re-seller never "closed out" my order, so I was never able to leave negative feedback on Amazon.com.

MY SUSPICION: This re-seller (Action Packaged, Inc.) takes order on Amazon.com for merchandise it does not have and a large mark-up. When an order comes in, they go out and buy it at retail prices and re-ship. They act as a middle-man. They did not update my order status for over 90 days...so I was not able to leave feedback. (If you notice, they have 18,000 5-star ratings and nothing else.)

While I do not think it's illegal, it is certainly unethical. I was not expected business to be conducted like this on Amazon.com, so I was not as suspicious as I normally am. Nor did I do my due diligence.

Since technically they fulfilled their contractual obligations and there was nothing wrong with the figurine, I was not able to return it for a refund. (Nor would I have, as it was a gift that I was eager to give to a family member.)

ACTION PACKAGED, INC.

Do your due diligence and avoid this unethical company.

I have ordered a $400 Canon Rebel from what I thought was Sears, then I learn when I call Sears it's actually from Action Packaged, Inc. The company uses Sears storefront website. I ordered this camera on Nov. 2, it has been withdrawn from my account & said it was shipped on Nov.4 & yet to have received it on Nov. 19th. The shipping I selected was to have the camera within 5 days. I have called Sears several times. They reassure me they will reimburse me if the camera is in fact a refurbished or if i'm not happy with it. The service is absolutely terrible. The company Action Packaged, Inc. is terrible. You don't take someone's money & not do what your suppose to do. I will never purchase from Sears online either.

DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY (or through Sears for that matter). I ordered a steam mop through Sears/Action Packaged and instead of charging me the quoted $26.95, I was charged $101.00. Sears gave me the runaround, even after I spoke to a supervisor. They said there was nothing they could do unless the "third party" agrees to give me a refund. I emailed Action Packaged directly and they agreed I was overcharged, and said they would give me a refund minus the original intended S&H costs of $26.95. This was a month ago, and I've still not received any refund. Now my emails to Action Packaged get rejected and I receive a "failure notice". I even told Sears I have written verification and acknowledgment from Action Packaged saying I was over charged, and all they say is - "There's nothing we can do directly because its a third party, we'll have to send it to our escalation department."...Then I never hear anything again.

In my experience in this situation, Sears acts as if they have no responsibility or culpability for third party's selling items through their website. No wonder they are about to go under with customer service such as this.
I can't put my finger on it, but there is definitely something shady going on at Action Packaged. Make sure you pay attention when you are on Amazon or any other site to make sure you are not buying from Action Packaged. You may get your item, but if you have an issue, don't expect it to be resolved.
