24/7 Green street is a loan company that claims that they can get you a loan and have it deposited within 24 hours. Now, I live in Arizona. In July of 2010, legislation passed a law that payday loans were illegal in this state. That being said, I ran into some financial hardship and needed a small loan($300) and the ability to pay it off over 6 months. I looked online and found this company. They verified my employment, adn when I asked is this a payday loan, I was reassured it was not. I would borrow $300 and pay back $390. $30 per $100 borrowed. I thought that was pretty good. Well, little did I know this company even before depositing the funds had pinged my bank account not once but twice(remember, I needed a loan). The transactions were for $30 a piece. I incurred two overdraft fees of $35/transaction. Now, my account is at
-$150 due to I had used my last $20(or I thought I had) to get gas in my car, the two $30 transactions and the overdraft fees. Later I incurred another for the $20. The deposit is made and I only have $150 available from this $300 loan. I contact the company and they refer me to Ecare- the department that handles the financial processes. This department tells me I need to contact 24/7greenstreet.com directly. I go around in circles for two weeks. I get paid. Well, that was yet another shock. Not one transaction but two transactions for $179.88 are processed from my account. Causing an overdraft of three other transactions that were smaller. Multiply $179.88x2=$359.76 was processed from paycheck, $105 in overdraft fees and this company continued to drraft against my account for 8 pay periods. I contacted my bank asked to place a freeze on my account, asked for a merchant freeze so that no matter what amount they tried to process they couldn't/ Nothing I did could prevent them from accessing my account. I t has now been 5 months. My bank account is ruined. The only amount I am actually responsible for is $138.56 that I had done transactions with my debit card in the very beginning. The bank will not reverse any of the charges incurred by the negligence of this company. This company is stating I still owe them $208. Well, I added it up and they owe me. $60 before the deposit had been made plus the overdraft fees it caused $70($130 so far, $359.76from the debit two weeks after the deposit=$489.56) I was to borrow $300 and payback $390. All the other transactions they tried to process, ultimately charged 18 overdraft fees to my account for a grand total of $630. DO NOT APPLY, AGREE, OR GIVE ANY OF YOUR INFO TO THIS COMPANY!!!! They will loan you half of what you agreed to because before you get the loan they will charge your account. Then when they collect auto payment they will process more than expected payment from your account. A $300 loan, has ultimately cost me almost $1000, my checking account, my credit rating, and a few prime jobs.
TOTAL scam THIS COMPANY IS. I filed with the better business bureau, federal trade commission due to my states laws and legalities.

Actually, I've done business with this company several times and have not had any problems at all, save for recently when i didn't have enough $ in the bank to cover the debit. but you can't base their practices on the laws of your state - the loan agreement says it's in the Republic of Malta.
I've borrowed from them perhaps 5 times and have never had them take $ when they weren't supposed to or take too much. |
