1saleaday.com 1 Sale A Day Fraudlent and mis-leading advertising, refurbished items not marked as such Internet |
16th of Mar, 2011 by User414882 |
I made two purchases on this website as it was recommended by a friend who hasn't had any issues with them. My first purchase was a Western Digital LiveTV HDTV media streaming device. I received the device OK but the item was DOA. I called Western Digital to confirm this and was not able to get it working whatsoever. Western Digital gave me an extremely hard time about swapping the item out as they said it was a "REFUBISHED" model and the warranty was already expired! I just received the item and 1saleaday.com had it marked as a NEW ITEM, nothing about refurbished in the ad! So now i'm stuck with a non-working reburished item. It took hours of complaining and two days worth of calls to Western Digital to make a one-time-only item swap out after sending them a PDF of my receipt and gave them my credit card information to "HOLD" onto until they receive the unit. So not worth all of the effort. The second item I ordered is a hand held wand scanner is now mysteriously on "Back Order" according to them. They did not give me a timeframe and I guess i'll be lucky if I ever see this item. I will not order from this place again! |

This business is at best a joke and at worse a fraud. Its easier just to cut and paste the email I sent them. Needless to say this matter is ongoing. They have lied about issuing a refund. I have opened a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of NY and sending a file to the NY Attorney General's office.
This is the second time I am contacting you regarding this issue. I contacted you on last Tuesday via your online contact form and per your FAQ (Returns: For defective merchandise, notify us by filling out the form on our Contact page within 21 days of delivery for an exchange. ) regarding a Brother Inkjet Printer MFC-5890CN, order # XXXXXXXX.
To summarize the previous email:
On 7/13/11 I ordered the above mentioned item. The order was received on Monday, 7/18/11. The item was delivered defective and displaying the common error "Unable to Init AF". On that Monday, the day of delivery, I called Brother to see if this could be fixed and they walked me through some steps that were unsuccessful. They then wanted the serial number from the item, I gave it to them, they then told me that the item was out of warranty.
I requested a refund from you due to:
1. The item is defective,
2. Brother will not recognize the 2 year limited warranty and I can only exchange it with you per your 21 day exchange policy, and
3. If the item breaks outside the 21 day window, it can't be fixed unless you also agree to do the necessary warranty repair beyond your 21 day return window and for the next 2 years.
That summed up the email I send you on Tuesday. Today, after a few business days have passed (per your receipt it states that "... it sometimes takes us a few business days, but rest assured we will respond to your inquiries! We respond to every email.) I still have not received a response.
When will you respond?
Additionally, I have called you on your (800) 419-0100 and your PBX answered and asked that if I needed to speak with a representative to press "0." Upon pressing "0", I was told that that is an invalid entry and returned back to the phone queue to press "0" if I needed to speak with a representative.
I also found your (347) 529-3434 number on the BBB website. Called it and got Ben's Outlet, no one is available and send a message to [email protected].
What is clear is that you don't answer you phones.
At this point, here is my position. You send me a defective item. The manufacturer does not recognize its warranty. You have a 21 day return policy - which is now the only warranty on this item (not what I purchased). You don't respond timely to emails and you don't answer your phones.
I will never do business with these people again! |
