ZOOSK
Zoosk Deceptive and fraudulent subscription and billing practices, Internet
22nd of May, 2011 by User180897
On May 2, 2011, I agreed to subscribe for the one-month option at $29.95. A few days later, it came to my attention that my cc account had instead been billed $99.94. I emailed their customer service dept in an attempt to get them to refund me the difference, but they continue to be deceiptful and blatantly misrepresent the facts. I have since cancelled the subscription effective May 6, 2011. The following is a transcript of the email exchanges between myself and representatives of Zoosk: RJ in Htown, May-06, 2011 09:33 (PDT):
Why was my credit card charged $99.94? I never agreed to this amount. I signed up for a 1-month membership @ $30 to learn about this site. Based on my personal experience so far, it appears that it was a total waste of my money.
I expect an immediate credit for this overage, or I will contest the entire charge outright with my bank. This is a total fraud. Chris at zoosk, May-11, 2011 11:34 (PDT):

Agreeing to a 6-mo subscription is a complete fabrication. Your site is a fraud, and I'm reporting it to my bank as such. I'll also be sure to alert the Internet community as to your spurious dealings. Chris at zoosk, May-11, 2011 12:38 (PDT):

Keep putting lipstick on that pig of a company that you work for, but you're still a fraud. You can keep sending me your tripe, but it won't change the fact that Zoosk practices unethical and fraudulent activities. I will enjoy putting your company out of business.... I will make it my personal mission.

I signed up for one month at 24.99 and was billed 54.99. This company and I are in dispute with the BBB ams they are painting me as some fool who doesn't know how to read or count. I am beyond livid. They did the same thing to me, bait and switch. I've also started to make it my mission to put them out of business or at least have my voice prevalent enough to deter any new folks signing up and getting scammed.
