I recieved a "neighborhood special" from Yossi Salon which offered a haircut for $18 and color for $29. I called him and booked an appointment. I was the first appointment for the day. He showed up late. when we entered the shop, there was hair all over the chairs and floors. The place had not been cleaned or swept. He gave me a dirty smock to put on. He brushed my hair with a filthy brush that had so much hair in it. I have brown hair and color it to cover the grays. I just wanted to color the roots, but he suggested I color all of my hair. He dyed my hair black. When I questioned if he used black or brown color, he got very upset and offended and told me I was being rude for asking that question. He suggested perhaps next time I should try somthing like "will this color get lighter after a few shampoos?" and proceeded to lecture me about manners. He reached for a dirty rag that had stains all over it to wipe the hair dye running down my face with. Then he washed my hair after leaving the color on for about an hour and a half, which completely dried my hair. He did a very poor job at washing my hair. My head was full of conditioner that needed to be rinsed." Then came the haircut. I wish I could post pictured to show how uneven my hair is. This is by far the worst haircut I've gotten in my life. Last but not least, when I handed him my credit card expecting to be charged 29 for color and 18 for haircut, totalling $47, he charged me $67. I asked him why I was being charged $20 extra, he said even though I had the "neighborhood special" card, and the same special was listed on a board at his store, he still couldn't honor that price because I didn't ask for the special and negotiate with him upfront! So, I got a bad haircut, and a color that's much darker than my natural hair color, which will require bleaching to fix that's going to cause severe damage to my hair, and on top of it, I got overcharged. This man is a liar and a cheater. False advertising is unethical. He has no talent or skills. I would encourage anyone who is considering doing any kind of business with him to do their research very well. My advice would be to find another hair dresser. My entire experience was disgusting! |

This post is entirely incorrect! Yossi runs a great little salon; both him and Christina are marvelous people who truly have great skills with what they do. As I arrived today to get my haircut, Christina just got done coloring a beautiful brown/rust color on the young lady before me. Then when it was my turn I said, "do whatever you think will look good." Her judgement was great and I love it. Yossi and her are very kind and truly take interest in conversations with all of their clients. I don't know if the original post is a competitor or what, but trust me when I say do not trust and see for yourself to save a great little shop some completely untrue judgments.
Just the fact that he has been in business so long should indicate that this post cannot be true. How would he still have clients! |
