Overall I was not happy with the service I received. The company is misleading. They did not inform me that I would be responsible for packing supplies (tape, boxes etc.), nor did they mention that all my belongings needed to be packed in boxes. I was given a quote over the phone, which came to a certain price of $2300. However, since I was living in a different state than my storage unit I was unable to accurately remember what was in the unit. I miss quoted by half the boxes I said I had, however they charged me the maximum penalty fee for this. I would have been more than happy to pay for the overage at the price I was originally quoted. Needless to say my quote went up drastically to $5300, which most major van lines would quote if they were to have done the packing/boxing my items, loading/unloading, and traveling upstairs. This company is a scam. The day the movers packed my items in the truck they took 8 hours to load. We started at 9am, they were an hour late which I had to call to find out where they were, and finished by 7pm to pack a 20X10 storage unit. Also, they are very careless with your possessions. They dropped several boxes right in front of me and never said anything. One mover actually picked up a box with a picture of a glass punch bowl set and slammed it down on the bed of the truck before packing it in. They broke an expensive mixer $200, several wine glasses, a coffee pot that they actually removed from the box so I would not hear all the broken glass inside, and a toaster oven. Also, if I were to have let them deliver my items upstairs they would have charged me an additional fee. Of course they do not tell you this, it got to the point where I read the fine print before they delivered and noticed this. I was almost scammed again. I wanted to give this review because I do not want anyone else to fall victim. Thank you |
