BEWARE ! BEWARE ! BEWARE !

DO NOT send your watch to Mr. Martin Marcus, owner of 'www.accutron214.com' If you do, you may never see it again ! Please, do not take the risk ! If this watch has any value to you, avoid Martin Marcus !

I fell for this crap, and sent the watch to Martin Marcus toget fixed and restored. It was a vintage Accutron 214 watch made in the sixties and left to me in my Father's will. It was, and is, IRREPLACABLE ! This military-style process beganafter I 1st emailed Martin Marcus, a self-proclaimed horologist, and a "self-proclaimed"expert in the repair and restoration of these watches. At Martin Marcus' request, I sent him ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,000.00) for these repairs, etc. This entire, highly -sequenced process, since I began with Martin Marcus, took ten months, before the watch ultimatley 'disappeared'...along with $1,000.00 (one thousand dollars).

Now, almost 18 months later, I still have never seen the precious watch again. I was also left 'holding the bag' as Martin Marcus never contacted me again, after July of 2010...when the watch disappeared.

Thank God that some, not complete/not enough by any means, insurance coverage was placed on the watch. It was only $800.00 of coverage, which makes one wonder if this amount wasn't purposely thought off, as a lower amount that if one were 'caught' doing any wrong, that it would be under felony level.

This horrible event began as a result of dealing with the unscrupulous, unsavory people that advertise on the internet, and hide behind their aliases and various websites, such as Martin Marcus.

I believe that there is an ongoing complaint filed within the state of Massachusetts, as well, regardingMr. Martin Marcus.

I have since learned through discussions with watch companies that DO INDEED offer these services on these vintage watches. One companyin Virginia told me directly that Martin Marcus, is a 'hobbyist' ...and that problems with him & his questionable services are not uncommon.

This entire event is much more detailed, but in order to get the word out, before another 'victim' falls prey...it has been dramatically reduced to its current form here...it is too much to type, quite frankly !

THE BOTTOM LINE : Avoid... Martin Marcus...of 'www.accutron214.com' based in Marblehead, Massachusetts and of other points unknown...
