On 11/13/09 I attended a craft fair in Chantilly, Virginia. At the show I saw a vendor I had seen at several other shows and from whom I had purchase on site small items. Since I had seen him before, I felt confident to order a hand crafted wooden toy chest from him. I paid him $227.90 in advance with a Visa credit card. He said it would take a few months for the order to be completed. I waited quite a while past that time and then started to leave messages and send him emails. He finally responded and told me various excuses. I tried to be understanding, foolish me! This process had gone on for a well over a year and finally after sending him an email where I mentioned some type of legal or civil action, he again responded. This time, he assured me that the chest was being worked on and that on June 20th said that FedEx would be picking it up. Obviously, that was another lie. I am now starting to try and contact craft show managers and proceeding with other steps to let people know this guy is dishonest and has stolen my money! Of course I will never place an advance payment order with a craft vendor again! People like this give craftsmen a bad reputation!
