Whatever you do never give these people money up front to do anything for you. The only leverage you have is your money that they want. Only believe what is in front of your eyes, nothing that they say as they will promise the moon but you'll get nothing other than those promises, no action what so ever. They advertise their own BBQ but actually buy pre made bulk BBQ in a bag and reheat it. Their supposedly home made sauce is purchased pre made in bottles as well. They also advertise consulting services and have a very convincing line that they hook you in with while pointing to their BBQ rigs and bragging how successful they are which while the trailers are pretty they mean nothing except they know how to spend other peoples money. These two have no idea how to advise others and claim to know everything about doing business but in reality know very, very little about anything other than how to convince people to part with their hard earned money. Get a lot of verifiable references and call them at random, be careful as they'll try to feed you to their friends. Ask for all their suppliers and call them. See how well they pay their bills or if it's done on time. You'll be shocked I'm sure. They do their best to not put anything in writing and when challenged after things go wrong blame everyone else, deny saying anything or re-invent history even when it's clear to a blind person it was their fault. If you hire them to do an event expecting to get an agreed upon percentage you can expect them to under report how much they made so they pay nothing or as close to nothing as they can get away with. If you get results with them than good for you but I and several others have not been so lucky. Remember that Bernie Madoff looked like an upstanding charitable professional too.
