Wellinger's Flooring Don't let Wellinger's Flooring rip you off the way they did me Tipton, Indiana |

I had contracted Wellinger's Flooring for a tile job in a bathroom. It was for the floor and shower wall. The tiles were already cut and number for him, but he still charged me the full price for the job. He and his son-in-law worked on this while I was at work, so when I came home, they were in a hurry to run off to the next job they had lined up. I looked at the bathroom quickly so they could hurry and leave. I thought at first the job looked nice, so I paid him in full. As soon as I handed him the check, he hurried out of my house. I went back in the bathroom as soon as they had gone, and found out that there wasn't any tiles from the top of the tub to the floor. I called him right away and he said " oh yea I ran out of tiles, you were two tiles short, so as soon as you get them I'll come back and finish the job for you". It took about three months to get the new tiles. (that is a story in itself) When I got the tiles I called him to set up a time for him to come to finish the job. He said he would call me back when he figured out a time. Two weeks later I still hadn't heard from him, so I called him. Again,he said he would call me when he had a time figured out. This time about three weeks past by. I had to call him again, but this time he set it up a time for the following Tuesday at 4:00 pm. I made sure I was home at that time only to find out he had came at 3:10 pm, so I had to call and reschedule. Again waited like last time. Then he finally called and left a message on my answering machine saying he'd be here on Monday at 8:30 am. I called him right back and left him a message on his phone and told him I was out of town until Monday evening. When I called back to reschedule his wife told me that I was going to have to pay more money for him to finish the job because he had come over to do it twice and I wasn't home. I tried to tell her that I had called him and left a message on his phone to let him know I wouldn't be home until Monday evening,, and as far as the time before he had come early. I couldn't help that. I was here when he said he'd be here. Then she tried to blame McCools carpet for it, because they had shorted me the two tiles. She said that her husband had given me the quote based on McCools measurements. I let her know that her husband had done his own measurements and I had paid him what he had asked for. I was getting angry, so I decided to hang up and calm down before I said something I'd regret. I calmed down, and called her back.I told her that that wasn't a good way to treat your customer. She didn't give me a chance to explain everything. She told me to call him and we would have to work it out between him and I . I called him, and at that time he said he would be over to do it when he figured out a time again. I waited a couple of days but hadn't heard anything from him, so I called him again and thats when he told me he wasn't going to do it because I hung up on his wife. She had told him not to finish my bathroom, so he wasn't going to finish it. The rest of the bathroom couldn't be finished either until the tiles were done. I then had to hire someone else to finish where he had left off at. He (mr. wellinger) had all my stuff with him I needed to finish the bathroom. I had bought everything he needed to put the tiles up, but he wouldn't use anything I had bought from McCools. They had a 30 day return policy but it had been past that so I lost all that money, plus it cost my extra to get the bathroom finished. Bysides that, the tiles are not even. I feel Wellinger's should have to pay me back my money they charged me,($944.73) or pay to have someone else to fix the problem areas, and for the additional cost to get the bathroom done.($250.000 ) I also feel he should pay me $130. 00 that I lost over the return policy. Plus, because he had the grout, all of it doesn't match up. All together it took two years for a job that should have taken only a couple of months at best. Plus he caused me a lot of stress. I was having to run to one bathroom to shower and another bathroom to use the restroom. I will update this report if and only if they rectify. |
