In November of 2010 are neighborhood had alot of hail damage. A man came to are door and said he was a roofer Phillip R Sword. The first thing we did was call are insurance agent and ask them if they had heard of the guy and they said we could use him because they had used him before and he was ok. So the next day an adjuster came out and said we did need a roof and set up a meeting the following day with Phillip R Sword and my husband so he could give a partial payment to the guy for supplies needed for the job. The insurance agent told my husband to sighn the check on the back and give it to Phillip so he did. The check was for $2008.00. We were told he would be at are house the following week to do the roof. Three weeks went buy and we heard nothing so my husband starded trying to get him to come to our house for a meeting to find out why the job has not been done he told us someone died in his family that is why he has not done the job yet well you hate to argue with someone when they tell you some one has died in there family. We waited several weeks longer my husband drove to his office three times but he was never there. Called him everyday just got answering machine. Then the weather got bad with snow so he told us he would do it as soon as the snow cleared up. January 20th we get a letter in the mail saying due to the Manufactures warranty they are not allowed to put the shingles on in the cold. The job will be done in March 2011. So my husband started calling again and Phillip R Sword says he no longer works for the company and they have went Bankrupt. He is moved out of his office and we found out he cashed the check two days after he got it. The letter we received in January is sighned by Justin Ryan Ward owner of Weather Guard Exteriors llc. So they got are $2008.00 and we never got a roof. I can not find Phillip R Sword but Justin Ryan Ward is still advertising on the internet so as far as I can tell they did not go bankrupt that is just another lie. |

i am in the same situation right now with this company. i have contacted the OHIO Attorney General office today and filed a complaint. I have also contacted channel 19 news with this and will be filing a police report against them. they are now operating under Ed Williams Home Improvement so BEWARE. They were just recently in the Maple Hts area trying to scam somebody else. |

They did shoddy work on our roof (Cleveland, west side) promised to pay for the repair ($4700 to correct their botched job which led to damaging roof leaf.) After promising to pay for the repair Ryan Justin Ward sent us a bad check for 1/3 of the total - it bounced and we were charged bank fees. Now all you ever get is his voicemail. He won't return phone calls or emails.
You are correct. Justin Ryan Ward is now doing business at the same address under the name of Ed Williams Home Improvement - 601 McGregor in Canton.
