We purchased a used 2001ford windstar from them, we paid 9, 000 for it, 3 months later the transmission went out . I called them about a warranty which they told me was good only for 3 months. I was not along when my husband purchased our van. We sent it to our trust-worthy mechanic and I expressed to him that I wasn't sure about the warranty. So my mechanic calls them as well before putting in a new transmission. They told him the same thing , but my mechanic would not use the Ephrata Ford dealership because of their scam reputation, he used the New holland dealership instead. The Van has gone through 2 transmission in only 3 yrs. My husband bought an extended warranty which we could not find the paper work on and here all along it was with all my garage bills. My problem is why did not the dealership upon my call call and the mechanics look into the warranty ? Its in the computer system. The transmission costs us 2, 500 and the warranty was an additional 1,800. So here we are out all that money ! I had it inspected 2 weeks ago by my trustworthy mechanic, they seen no problems. Wanner Ford sent me a coupon for 29.95 for an oil change and the works. So I took it there the other day and that 30 bucks turned into 500 dollars. We are livid. The mechanic would have noticed anything wrong . We were lied to and feel abused by this dealership. We are contacting an attorney if they don't pay us the amount for that transmission. WE were really hoping that since it is under new ownership that it would be better. Upon paying the 500 bucks , the very next day, my emissions light came on and they forgot to put my hub cap back on my tire. They did order me another hub cap and fixed the emissions light but no word on the money back for the transmission. My mechanic says this is stealing and they will back me up if I need to go to court. We are older and raising our grand daughter and feel totally taken advantage of and they not only stole from us but from the money we need to raise our grandchild . We contacted the better business bureau and are awaiting are looking into a consultation with an attorney. This is a significant amount of money we don't have. |
