Walgreens BS Employer: Don't Care About Employees Safety Peoria, Arizona

I have worked for Walgreens for over 7 years and thought I would retire from this company. I am an asst. mgr. and have been in this position for over 5years. The reason I am writing this hateful report is because I am fed up with the abuse the asst. mgr.'s take from employees, DM's, and customers. There is one incident that took it over the top. It occurred this year at the store I had worked at for over 4 years. A female customer, who has been coming in for over a year, decided she would physically assault me. I had asked the other members of management, many times,to banherfrom the store because she starts problems every time she comes in. The response was, "we need the sales."

She was arrested for the assault andI have beenunable to work since shortly after the incident.Although I am receiving disability, there has been nothing done to keep this from happening again to anotheremployee, at least in that store, and I can not believe how insensitive other humans can be. It is hard enough to deal with the public, let alone when someone decides to get physical. If there is anyone else out there that agrees with me on this issue, please respond to this posting.I think it's about time we show a united front and take this huge company to court. I'm ready, are any of you? The lack of providing a safe work environment, by Walgreens, for their employees, is an important issue. Without the employees there would be no sales for this multi billion dollar company. So shame on you, Walgreens, forfinding more value in the almighty dollar than the people that work for you every day. Shame, Shame, Shame!!!!
