Visa USA Visa PayPower Debit Card Visa PayPower Debit Card Maintenance Fee scam, Internet |
31st of Dec, 2011 by User579078 |
I purchased a Visa Paypower debit card for $100. Unbeknownst to me, they charge a maintenance fee of $5.95 per month on the card! What a scam! I ended up being charged about $25.00 for the priveledge of holding their card for about four months. In terms of an interest rate, the six points per month is about 1.5% per week, or about what the mafia charges. In any case, I bought the card for $100 cash, it wasn't like I borrowed the money from them! This maintenance fee is clearly a scam! I won't rest until I have written every politician in Washington, and in the state of Pennsylvania, and something is done about this! Don't think so Visa? Just sit back and watch me! |

I was given a $50 gift card for my birthday. I used it to place an order online. When I had to do an exchange of the product the merchant refunded the card. But, because I destroyed the card-mostly because of the fee, but also because the balance was less than $5 and I no longer wanted to be involved with the company-Visa now says that they have no record of me or the card or the money the merchant refunded to them. The merchant gave me an acceptance code that proves that VISA accepted my money. I used the card to place an order, I activated the card. How can they say they have no idea who I am? . I have been online on the PayPower site and gave VISA the last 4 digits of the card that are shown on the site. All they told me was unless I could give them the 16 digits from the card or had a receipt they couldn't help me. This was a gift from OCTOBER! Who keeps information like that? So I am tough out of luck and VISA stoled my money! I will never do this again. My bank offers gift cards for $3.95 with no monthly fee-that's what I'll be doing from now on. |

We'll be happy to assist you with this issue regarding your discarded PayPower card. However, for us to be able to locate the card we need to determine if the card was registered. The registration process involves you providing your personal information so that we link it to the card number. Once this process is completed, we can use information other than the card number to locate your record.
Please note the activation process is meant to prevent use of the card without paying for it. It does not require personal information and therefore does not establish a relationship between the card number and the cardholder.
If the card was not registered the only way to locate the record is with the complete card number. If that is the case it would be necessary to go back to the store of purchase with the purchase receipt in order to get a reference number that allows us to locate the card and send you a replacement or reissued card.
