VIP Auto Outlet Warranty Fraud Maple Shade , New Jersey
13th of Dec, 2011 by User709350
I purchased a 2004 Dodge Durango from VIP Auto Outlet in Maple Shade NJ. The reason this vehicle was purchased was for my fiance and 4 girls to get back and forth to school and work. As I was in the process of making a decision of the purchase I was also informed the vehicle came with a 2 year unconditional warranty from Superior Protection Plan with no questions asked bumper to bumper. Ok lets do this deal I said to my fiance. Within the second week of having the SUV we decided to take a family trip to GA for a graduation all loaded up to go. While driving to my destination with frequent breaks and fuel stops about 1hr away from arriving point a flashing light comes on I pull to the side of the road shut the vehicle down let set for approx. 10 mins tried to start nothing. I got out pop hood checked the Oil(ok), Radiator(ok), Trans Fluid(ok), Battery(ok) no visible fluids on the ground. Now as it is 330am on a major highway my family is cuddled up in the rear trying to keep warm I'm left looking like an idiot. So after 1hr off waiting I tried again vroooom it starts off again. So we arrived @ our destination 1hr late. I let the truck sit then checked later that day same situation now I "P'd" off had to borrow another family member vehicle for transportation. So truck sat until departure 4 days later. Made it back to NJ 10 miles away from home just outside Atlantic City same thing let truck sit for 1 day. Day after fiance gets ready for work she ask can u go out with me just in case starts right up then KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK I scream turn it off looked at all fluids again all ok, after looking down on side of motor a hole in engine block smh. So being as tho its a weekend of course dealership closed and warranty company close. Truck sits for another 2 days finally call dealership to notify and the first thing I got was "Don't you have a warranty" and rushed off the phone. Next call to warranty company rushed off phone now I'm stuck again. So had truck towed to a local mechanic who has to be license to deal with warranty company. So immediate the head mechanic of shop(great shop) was able to look @ what I seen/heard and confirmed a blowing motor(Connecting Rod) through side of engine block. Next after mechanic tried numerous times with warranty company to advised them the vehicle needs a new engine, the warranty company then needed to know why the connecting rod went through engine ok, then how, then was it the owner fault, then well we'll have to send our appraiser out to verify after 2 months of back and forth the mechanic just received word to purchase a used engine but the warranty company will not cover new plugs, new wires, air filters, all hoses, AC replenishment, thermostat w/ gasket and also the previous diagnostic charge that the warranty company needed. If I'm not mistaking why put all used parts back into my vehicle to maybe have the same problems. So in total I'm @ anywhere from $1100.00-$1300. Not including the car and insurance payments that I have to keep current. Then as the mechanic stated these are only rough figures but will try to work with me on all. Could you imagine if I had to or have to pay for storage fees. If anyone can help please contact me.
