It all started with a piece of SPAM email I received. I responded to it and some guy called one of my employees. Vinton was trying to sell his consulting services to our commercial collection agency. As you can imagine, I had little to zero interest in his services. Being that we are all sales professionals, we let Vinton continue with this pitch. It got ugly when he decided that since he wasnt "winning us over", he would just go the other route and become a complete ass. We explained that we had a major potential client that we were close to closing.. He assured us that if we went with his services, that it would help us get bigger clients. We pointed out the many flaws in his business model and the flaws in his secret "marketing" program... which consisted of basically SEO. When we asked too many questions, he told us that we didnt deserve any of these clients because we were "rough around the edges" and that he didn't want to see us succeed. Jealous that we have a business and he doesn't perhaps? We dont need HIS help for anything, let alone finding business for our collection agency. PLEASE! Its the worst economy in years... COLLECTIONS IS BOOMING!!! Vinton, you are a joke and I would'nt do business with you if you were the last guy on Earth! |

I like websites of this nature because they provide an opportunity for both parties to give their side of the story. Since we are name dropping. There is only one agency we have had a negative experience with this year. This experience occurred with me (Vinton) on the phone, in our first call, this agency has never worked with us. So it is not possible for a rip-off. The collection agency is “Carson Rose & Associates.” They simply did not like it when I told them they had unethically behavior in their approach to collections and we did not want to support them.
And yes, I was arrogant and rude. These statements are true. I was disappointed when they told me about how they handled their client’s receivables. The owners of this agency articulated everything we collection professionals are trying to get away from; the old mentality of unprofessional, illegal, and inappropriate approaches to collections. At Vinton Moss we work with some really great agencies and I love them. I support them in their ethics and dedication to compliance and professionalism. It takes a lot of work and investments to be legit in this industry. Anyone out there that reads this posts, know that our company (Vinton Moss) will never support an agency we find compromises legitimate collection practices.

Actually, all of our calls are recorded... Including this one.
"I was disappointed when they told me about how they handled their client’s receivables" ... Simply untrue, we never spoke about how we handle our clients receivables.
"The owners of this agency articulated everything we collection professionals are trying to get away from; the old mentality of unprofessional, illegal, and inappropriate approaches to collections." - He never spoke to any of the owners until the next day, to wit we didnt even have an unpleasant second conversation until I tried to bring my partner in on the conversation and he was told "I only have 30 minutes for this call" and refused to explain anything.
"Anyone out there that reads this posts, know that our company (Vinton Moss) will never support an agency we find compromises legitimate collection practices." - I'm not even sure what that means, being as though Vinton doesn't know any of our business practices, how could he possibly come to this conclusion? We have, literally, thousands of clients... and a small handful of complaints, which their will be a certain percentage of in this business, comes with the territory. We answer and handle all complaints with professionalism and integrity to an amicable resolution. This situation is unfortunate as we never asked Vinton for anything, he sent us an unwanted spam email and decided to get arrogant and rude when we didn't go for his services. As I told Vinton, if this guy is so good at marketing agencies, why isnt he still in the collection business?
You're a joke, Vinton. |
