Verizon Wireless Unauthorized plan change and price increase Internet |
16th of Jun, 2011 by User509938 |
I had a Verizon WIreless individual plan. I have unlimited talk and text ($89.99), and unlimited web ($29.99) on a Blackberry Tour. That is what I signed and agreed to on my contract. A few months into my account, I had a problem with the BBerry, which was replaced. In the meantime, I had to use a cheapie phone. Fine. But, when I received my replacement BBerry and had my service changed back, they re-instated my plan at the Corporate rate. I did not know about, or consent to, this change. By the time I caught it, 14 months had elapsed. Yeah, I know, but they still didn't honor our binding contract. When I tried to get a credit, they only offered me 3 months retroactive, and changed it for the future. I said that's not enough. My only contract was for a $29.99 web plan, not the $45. corporate rate. I don't see how they can illegally and unilaterally change my rate, then tell me I'm at fault for not catching it earlier. Seriously? The onus is on me to recognize their theft in a timely manner? UPDATE: Okay, I just got off the phone with level #2 supervisor who said that, since I activated the replacement phone on the automated system, instead of through customer service, I switched the rate.(!) T.S. was the basic bottom line. I am so, so, SO ANGRY! I am supposed to receive a call from the level #3 supervisor tomorrow. Yeah, right, I'm holding my breath. |

U should really read the contracts. I work for a cell phone company that is Nationwide and the contracts are only to agree to keep the line of service open and not a certain price for services. Now we as a company do not increase rates on a "grandfathered" plan but u better believe if that rate for feature or service changes and u remove or change ur services for any amt of time, u get the rate it is for new customers or just regular price, but, if there is a special going, u can also change to that rate. Bottom line, dont change anything and expect your "contract" to bail u out cause if u read it completely u will see it is just an agreement that wr will keep services on as long as u pay ur bill and that u will continue to use service for the contract period and u can change pkg n features at any time. Hope this clears up and prevents confusion for some, I knoe I have had to explain it multiple times to customers. How fair would it be if we offered a cheaper rate and wouldnt let u get the deal cause u were in contract for a higher rate? |
