A couple of years ago, we signed up online for 2 years for a bundle (TV, Phone & Internet Service). At that time the rep quoted us $124 a month plus tax. That was a great deal and we didn't expect to pay more. Plus, the rep also reinforced the offer on the online ad that we would get for FREE a brand new wireless netbook; all we had to do was pay for shipping, which he estimated to be about $40. I didn't have a laptop then so I was really excited about this. First, we only got a voucher for $99 to be applied to a Dell machine. I searched online and found that the cheapest netbook was $295. Which means we would have to shell out an additional $200 plus shipping. I tore up the voucher in anger. Next the TV rate when up showing charges for premium channels that were supposed to be FREE. On top of that, Verizon charged us for games we did not download. Our bill had gone up to $164 a month. We cancelled the bundle and told Verizon we just wanted the phone and internet service, which we still have. Direct TV fined us over $400 for cancelling our contract. We had to contact the Better Business Bureau and explained the situation, after being harassed by phone and mail night and day for the $400. That's now been settled but Verizon still owes me ONE WIRELESS NETBOOK.
