I received a notification from Vericrest Financial that we have a past due amount of $327.30 and my records show going back to 5/21/2010 that we have made payments of 76.80 on the 21st of every month through our bank. I did shows that in January of 2011 we in advertintly sent the CIT payment aka Vericrest Financial to the wrong company. When I called to talk to the customer service rep at Vericrest Financial to dispute what they show we have past due and what I show we have paid she informed me that we had missed one payment in January and also that one payment earlier was short 80 cents and because of that we were charged a late fee of 29.95 each month after that because we are cosidered paying our payments 1 month behind so Vericrest Financial is telling me we owe them 250.50 in late fees plus we are a month behind in our payments because we continue to we missed 80 cents on one payment and it did not matter if we missed January's payment as even if we had paid 76.80 Vericrest Financial would sill have us deliquent on the account and charging us late fees for a payment they state the got for 76.00 and not 76.80. I told the customer service lady that I show that we have paid this account on time every month 76.80 and my bank records show it to include the month she stated we only paid $76.00. I have asked for a copy of our contract be sent to me with my signature on it showing that if we were late or short on any payment late fees will be applied going forward and the customer service rep did not respond to that request. I am currently thinking if this warrants a law suite or even a class action suite because never in my life have I ever had rolling late fees being applied when I miss one payment and pay all the others on time before and after that. Nor have I ever heard being 80 cents short on payment also is classed as missed payment and late fees applied there as well. |
