Valley Rental Valley Rental Disgusts Me Fargo, North Dakota |

Renting from Valley Rental was a HUGE mistake. I've had nothing but problems since I moved in and let me tell you, their maintenance team is completely incompetent. About a month after I moved in, the wall in my living room began to leak water. After they sent someone out to look at it, they told me there was a problem with the roof and that they would have to get contractors up there to fix it. This took a few weeks. Finally, they claimed the leak had been repaired. Two weeks later, the SAME exact spot on my wall began to leak AGAIN. I called Valley Rental and once again, they "sent someone out to fix it." It took THREE TIMES for their USELESS maintenance team to finally get my wall to stop leaking. On top of all that, the paint job that they did after having to gut the wall? Let's just say my 7 year old could have done a better job. In January, notices were hung up in the entry way of my apartment by Valley Rental, advising the tenants to have their vehicles removed from the parking lot for snow removal on Tuesday, the 18th. Surprise surprise, thanks to their once again, incompetent maintenance team, some idiot printed off the wrong date. So I get a call on Wednesday, the 19th, telling me that my vehicle was towed. So now I have to leave work, drive all the way across town to get my vehicle out of the impound, which I did NOT pay for, however, Valley Rental refused to reimburse me for my time/gas spent on having to FIX their error. Wonderful customer service. In March, I had a Valley Rental maintenance guy come and use a snake drain on my toilet. Not only did he severely scratch up the inside of my toilet, I later got a $50.00 bill in the mail with the following memo: "Toilet - toilet was plugged, his own fault. He took a big dump. Told him he may be charged for it." Unbelievable. Whoever wrote that should be ashamed of himself. Apparently, a 6th grade equivalent is all that is needed to work for Valley Rental. I moved out of my apartment with Valley Rental on April 29th. Aside from the NUMEROUS problems I had while renting from this company, they now send me a bill for $866 minus my $300 deposit. They claim that it took FIVE HOURS to clean my apartment, ($50 an hour - $250 total), while the only things listed on the check out list consisted of "wiping off" certain areas of the apartment that were missed, window cleaning and cleaning behind the oven. If all of that took their maintenance team 5 hours to clean, then Valley Rental has one he** of an issue on their hands. They included NO type of breakdown, whatsoever, of any additional cleaning that had to be done, and no explanation for why in the he** it took them five hours. I've previously filed a BBB complaint against Valley Rental in March and I believe 100% that they are retaliating. I work very closely with regulatory agencies on a daily basis - I KNOW MY RIGHTS. Valley Rental preys on people who they assume dont know any better. Im not one of their low-income tenants whose ignorance keeps them in business. Ive had it with this bullsh** and Im fighting back.
