USA Business SCAM - Discount Supplies Las Vegas, Nevada |

On October 27, I was contacted by a Christen Anderson. She said she was a friend of our IT Manager and “he told her to give me a call..because we might have a need..†and “…at the same time be able to help her out…†We are a small company in a small community, so this is not unusual. She said she “was moving her business and wanted to get rid of supplies to save on moving cost.†Items quoted included pens for .05 per dozen, paperclips for .89 per box, staples for 2.59 per doz boxes, highlighter at 1.29 per dozen – the list goes on. She rushed through the list and I basically said yes or no to each. I ordered 8 types of items totaling $98.35. At the end of the call, she said I would receive an order acknowledge via email and be invoiced. Shame on me for not getting her phone number. Immediately afterwards, I went to our IT Manager and asked if he knew her. He did not. I received the box of supplies Tuesday, November 15. Our receiving clerk brought the box to my desk with packing slip out. I did not even open the box because of suspicion at the point. To say the least, I never received the order acknowledgement via email. I call the number on the packing list (which had no prices) and spoke to “Robin†at 3:37pm. I explained that I never received an order confirmation to confirm prices discussed. She said she could send me the invoice via fax. I received the fax. The prices were jacked so high, I was mortified in addition to Items being on it which I did not order. Their Invoice totaled $617.53. Funny, I tried calling “Robin†back several times only to receive a “call being forward to voicemail†message now. I have returned the package to sender unopened and filed a complaint with BBB. Unfortunately, afterwards I checked BBB and other online sources and found over 18 other complaints file against the company with almost identical stories. |
