Us Bank Took everything I had worked hard for, for a mistake they admitted was their fault , Internet |

I have banked with US bank for 3 years and never had a problem. In January of 2011, I went to do a "close-transfer" at the branch in Orem, UT. I sat down with a banker that I had worked with many times and trusted. We did a "close transfer" because of fraud and she said that would be the way I could keep my relationship with the bank, but switch account numbers to stop fraud. Well apparently it was not done correctly, by her own admission, and they took at a very large sum of money last Tuesday. I was very distraught of course and immediatley called my "go-to" person at the bank and she assured me she would take care of everything since she had transfered the account wrong in the first place. She could not give the money back to me, which I understand because that was money owed to the bank fromt he other account, but she said she would refund all the fees and not let it hit my credit since this was "banker error". I am an honest person and while I did not appreciate the way things were handled, I tried to remain calm because we are all human, she made a mistake and was willing to do whatever she could to help me. She refunded all the fees as there should not have been any given the situation. On Friday, when I was paid again I deposited my check and she explained that I still owed 53.15 to close the other account out at a zero balance. Again, I trusted her and paid that. She looked me in the eye and said everything is taken care of and closed out. You wil not have any problems again with this. Again, we worked together on several occasions, I trusted her and appreciated the help. (I should have gotten her to put that in writing, but I did not realize that at the time.) Yesterday, Us bank took a total of 286 out of my account again. I immediatley drove from work to the branch to get it taken care of. To my suprise the banker's last day was Friday! The manager there has no idea what she is doing and even though her math did not add up and she could not explain why they had taken so much more money out than they should have, she refused to help me or reverse what had happened. This is very unfair, I did nothing wrong and was very patient with the mistake so long as they were taking care of it because we are all human. I have read a lot of these comments and rude people on here and I will just say, I am not writing this for a bandwagon to start. I was done wrong and I am escalating this further until someone actually fixes it. I am writing this to heopfully save someone else from going through what I have gone through this past week with 700+ dollars being taken from me. I hope I am able to help someone. |
