University of Phoenix Financial Aid Department Sent Financial Aid Back to Lender Phoenix-Online Courses, Arizona |

I cannot tell you how many times I have backed up this school on here. Every time there has been a complaint I come on to say how great this school is, etc., etc. Wow, has my opinion changed! My financial aid has been incorrect for a couple of days now and all of a sudden I see that my pell grant money was sent back to the lender and UOP wants me to pay in full? I have sent emails to my financial advisor and to her supervisor and I have received no response. So finally I call and of course my financial aid advisor is not in so I talk to some other person and she said she cannot tell me why this happened. So I was told to wait. Nice huh. Then today in the mail I receive a letter from my financial advisor saying my pell grant was sent back to the lender because I missed 14 consecutive days of classes or I have withdrawn from the school. I am livid! I have been with this school for three years! I have never missed one day of class, nor have I ever turned in a late assignment. I have a 3.7 gpa and I do very well. To have this happen is unacceptable. So, I called the school and some other guy answered and he told me I have been in classes and he does not know why the money was returned. He said I may not be eligible for Pell which is ridiculous. I just got my award letter in the mail saying I am eligible for Pell. Not one person in financial aid can tell me why my pell grant was sent back to the lender. Not one person will answer their email. This is totally unacceptable and ridiculous and I am so upset! I told them they have over 600 complaints on Ripoffreport.com and most have to do with financial aid. I am always the one saying great things about this school, but now after this happens, I can see why so many of you have filed complaints. If they do not straighten out this fiasco by Friday, I will get whomever I can involved in going after this organization. |
