United Truck Group; AKA: Truck Capital, is a deceptive company preying on individuals with poor credit. This company guarantees financial approval to anyone that can provide the $595.00 application fee. However; once this is paid and the individual is approved, another ten to fifteen thousand dollars is required to obtain a truck. There is the down payment of no less than eight thousand dollars. There is the insurance payment. There is a payment for a scheduled 2290 (heavy vehicle use tax). This fee is $550.00 at any IRS office, however; UTG charges a fee of $75.00 to file. Then one has to purchase their base plates through UTG. The fee for this is around $1800.00. Once all of this is paid, you may drive off the lot within five days...if you're lucky. UTG is not a buy-here-pay-here establishment. UTG is a rental company. This means that after all of the money invested into a truck by an individual, the payments made are not put towards the truck. The payments are simply rental payments. This means that the individual is not purchasing the truck. On top of that, the individual is responsible for all of the mainanance, and repairs of their rental vehicle. How can this be possible? If one is going to rent a truck, take my advice, go to Penske or Ryder. They at least repair any break downs or tires and provide road service as well. The reason for my complaint is: in section XIV of the rental agreement titled "TERMINATION" it is described that deposits will be refunded minus any refurbishing fees, recovery fees, monies owed, rental payments owed, taxes, fees, and any outstanding charges on Customer's account. With this said, if the truck is in presentable condition, returned to the company, and payments are up to date, a deposit should be returned. Unfortunately; NO MONIES ARE RETURNED! Should any class action suit be filed against this company, PLEASE PLEASE inform me: as I will be on the bandwagon without a doubt! |

I do not know how long ago you delt with united truck group, myself october of 2010, I have so far had a completley better experience with UTG, yes they charge more for the 2290 then i could go get it myself, but for the 75.00 more i didnt miss any work, thats a plus, the base plate, I had my own Ohio base plate, when it expired UTG provided me with a base plate, at an additional cost, its kinda like having my own secetarey, again i didnt miss any work, as far as me owning the truck, my 495.00 app fee, not 595.00 like you stated, my deposit of 9500.00 not 15000.00 like you stated will be applied to the buy out after one year, i figure i will have to come up with around 3400.00 in oct 2011 to buy out my rental agreement, i could be wrong, but i dont think so. as far as them preying on me because of my credit. I was hit hard in 2008 because of fuel prices my credit went to shit, fast. I went to UTG, they didnt come to me. I flew there and 2 days later i left there with MY 2006 pete 379, with a tri pac apu. I have had no problems with my Pete, its a good solid truck.
and I thank UTG for taking me on as a coustmer, I do plan on getting a second and maybe even a third truck from Louie and UTG
