ALDO DISORBO AND ANTHONY DISORBO ARE THE LEAGAL OWNERS OF THESE COMPANIES HAS TAKEN BIGGGGG ADVANTAGE OF GOOD PEOPLE FOR TOOOOO LONG. AFTER GETTING THE RUN AROUND FROM THE SALESPERSON PAMELA LING I SPOKE TO THE MANAGER PAULINE WHO COULD CARE LESS ABOUT STEALING MY MONEY. I ASKED TO SPEAK TO THE OWNER ALDO DISORBO AND THEY SAID HE DOESN'T COME TO THE OFFICE NOR DOES HE CARE. I AM PUTTING A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT TO PUT THIS COMPANY OUT OF BUSINESS FOR GOOD. I am with you! I am in the middle of land piracy; estimate went from initial 2700 to over 10000.00 and they are holding my belongings in storage, undisclosed location. I have already contacted Bill O'Reilly, moverescue.com, federal carriers, news 12, Arnold Diaz channel 5, amongst others. Many more to be contacted. This has got to stop! I interned at the colorado legislature with HR Richard Decker and am seeking advice from him as well. Also, my Mom works at a "college of law" and is seeking assistance there as well. My son and I are beside ourselves, thinking we will never see our belongings again. No agency should be allowed such negligent regulation and the more complaints I see, the scarier it gets! Let me know your plans, I am with you and can tap into pertinent resources. These crooks need to go down!!

I'm a fellow LOSER to USVL. I want to put them out of business. I'd like to be part of a class action lawsuit . My anger is deep and I'm soooo tired of telling my story I'm not gonna go into it here and save it for some real action!

I hired a moving company to move my disabled mother from Indiana back up here to CT.  I have had nothing but headaches and frustration to the point of tears. When I realized I was being scammed I wrote to the Federal Dot and anyone else I thought could help. Well now it's been a month and my mom is still waiting for her furniture to be delivered and the company will not give me any answers or help. I did some investigating of my own and found out this Company scammed a lot of people. I have included a link regarding my personal story which also includes what I told the federal dot. There is also a generic response from the company that is obviously a standard letter they send out when they get complaints and they get plenty. Summary of what I filed with Federal DOT:
This is what I have written to FMCSA.. It is a brief description of what I am going through right now. As I sit here waiting for a call back again..

I flew to New Albany on 3-27 to help my disabled mother with the move. I am from CT. I was told the pick up would be 3-27 or 3-28 2012. I had to fly back with my mother since she is disabled on Thurs 3-29 2012. I have been given several excuses on the delay of pick up. I have had to call them many many times. Many of my calls were not returned. I had to call them to get any answers. They only called me twice after the scheduled pick up time given to me, to ask if delay would be okay for the next day or two. I told them no and they said I have no choice but to wait for them to have the time to come get our stuff. On the day I flew out of IA I was told I was "guaranteed" a pick up on 3/31 no matter what since her lease is up then. I had to make arrangements with her neighbor to be there for the pick up which was not what we wanted to do but felt we had no other choice. Her neighbor is also elderly and I hate doing this to him and making him responsible but I had to get back to CT for work and my mother had to sign papers so she would not lose her apt here in CT since there is currently a 3 year waiting list for people who need an apt.

Now today 3-31 I am told that pick up can not be until April 1st 2012. Her lease is up today. I am again told that they can not do anything and if any $ compensation is available they can let me know Mon. 4/2 2012. The stress has caused my mother so much mental grief. I also have a depression anxiety diagnosis and have suffered 2 very serious panic attacks. I need help. Not sure what to do next.

Still waiting... 4/24/2012 Spoke to Julian a few days ago and was finally given balance but he said the furniture is now in Chicago. He said he was waiting to hear from dispatch with a date. He said he would call me on the 18th with more info. Finally I get a call tonight, but guess what ? It was a woman at ext 374 asking me how the delivery went and if the movers did a good job. Are you kidding me !!! She conveinitely called at 6:55. So when I asked for more info I was told it would have to wait til tomorrow. She said she would look into it. That is all they ever say.. We are now more than 12 days past delivery window. The response on this site from American Van Lines was so generic it is ridiculous. My mothers disabled and needs her nebuelizer and a bunch of her medical records not to mention a place to sleep and sit. She has nothing to cook with or anything. I plan on calling my personal atty as well as the States Attorny Office in the morning. Also the Better Business Bureau and anyone else who will listen as well. May look into contacting my local news investigation team. No one should have to go through this. I have been brought to tears several times trying to resolve this. When they were late for pick up they tried to bribe me into a 120.00 settlement which I would not sign. The settlement stated that I cannot bring any other claim against them, nor sue them. It also had a Clause that if I signed it I had to keep the claim and my accusations confidential. That's plain sleazy !! They are the MOST UNPROFFESSIONAL business I have ever dealt with. I have been urging anyone looking into hiring a moving company to do as much research as possible or move your own stuff. I feel so frustrated and feel like it is never going to be resolved so I am not going to just let it go. I will see this through to the end and will demand results and resolution. It has now become my full time job. If it will help others then it will all be worth it. I will also be following up with FMCSA and updating them and urge them into doing an investigation. THIS NEEDS TO STOP HAPPENING TO PEOPLE !!!

I have sent info to BBB, FL state atty, CT state atty, Channel 3, and the ripoff site
AND FEDERAL DOT
assistant CT state atty called me and I sent her the contracts and dates.   She plans to contact AVL herself also. 4/25 2:00 pm ([email protected])

4/25  Called left message with Julian Ext 194 11:00 am
Called again to general customer service spoke to Roy 11:15 am put on hold
Transfer me to dept.. handling my move 11:22 am was disconnected at  11:31 am
Called back at 11:32 put on hold again, Kyle picks up and then puts me back on hold
He gets back on phone with NO NEW INFORMATION.  I INFORMED HIM REGARDING ME CONTACTING THE BBB, FL STATE ATTY, CT STATE ATTY, FEDERAL DOT AND MY LOCAL NEWS.
I INFORMED HIM IF I DO NOT HAVE ANY ANSWERS BY 4:00 pm today I am going to call my personal atty to handle this matter. I also told him I want to speak to the CEO or equivalent at AVL today.
He said he will put in a request for me to speak to a higher up manager and will contact be before 4:00 pm as I requested. NO CALLS WHATSOEVER !!

4:10 pm. I call Julian get voicemail.  Left message
4:11 pm Call general Cust Service Spoke to Maria put on hold 4:13 pm
4:20 comes back and tells me she needs to connect me to someone else to help me. On hold AGAIN.  

Marcus called said my goods will be in PA on 4/27 or 4/28 
Possibly Delivery to CT  around May 1st.
I explained my entire story to him again and asked for the CEO name and contact info.  He said I have to talk to manager Kyle to talk to his supervisor and so on and so forth.  This is horrible. I was told by Marcus that someone will DEFINITELY call me before end of today's business day. 
NO ONE CALLED.


According to my phone logs I have called them over 70 times since 3/19
They have only contacted or returned my call 5 times. I feel like they have all the control and I am helpless.

Their generic written response which does not even include a name:

We make our customers aware in our terms of service that all suggested dates supplied within their contract are estimates. Due to the nature of the business, we ensure our customers understand that delays may occur and with this in mind, our company provides windows for routing purposes & is also designed as such in the event of any occurrence of delays. Confirmed dates are determined 24-48 hours prior to pick up or delivery, by the driver's route and schedule which is prone to alteration at any given time. We regret that we were unable to render services within your preferred time frame.


American Van Lines wishes to extend our apologies for the inconveniences and the frustrations caused due to the delays experienced in loading your household. We make genuine attempts in rectifying your situation as we are always working diligently to ensure that all of our customers are satisfied with our services. Our records indicate that our office is in contact with you in reference to your issues and we hope to formulate an agreement mutually in resolution of your issues/concerns. You are more than welcome to contact us in regards to this response at 1-800-338-9361 . We are available at your disposal.

Items are in Chicago waiting for delivery date from driver.  They will call me tomorrow.

No call til 4/24 in which they wanted my feedback on how my delivery went.  I stated I have not received my delivery in which she said she would look into it and call tomorrow. Gave me her ext 374 but when I tried to call her back I was told ext 374 doesn't exist as most of the extentions they have given me right from the beginning.

I've had to call them several times. Messages left on several voicemails.  Several emails sent also
They have only called me twice after I demanded to talk to manager (James and Sam)

Got delivery failure notices for emails to customer service.  On Joe Amato's  went through

3/31. Nationwide Relocation Services

Called me told me Sun.  then I called  Nicole 

Then my husband Jim called Manager Sam ext 208 called back to confirm Sun Am. Said truck Driver will call us this evening.  Did not call back. On 4/01 I got a call from a driver stating they are at location and doing the pick up.

4/03/12
Sonia called said she was told I put a complaint in to the dot and she was sorry and will be getting a del date and balance due for me no later than 04/04/12 am
She said she would call me back in am.   No call back, several messages left with several voicemails and never got a live person or a call back.



4/06/12.      Finally got through to Joe Amato at 2:39 who transferred me to:
Roy ext   333 

Called twice and that ext. Does not exist.  Called main number and happened to have Roy answer the call.. He said he still has 10 minutes in the hour time frame in which he promised to call.  It is now 3:32 pm
Again No Call and all I could get was voicemails when I called back myself. 

Called Joe who referred me to Roy regarding balance due and delivery date

Roy promised and guaranteed to call me with more info in a few minutes.
Also Ray said delivery window goes the 4/12 when my forms and emails clearly say they will deliver by today 04/06/2012

04/06/2012            Called them again at 4:50 pm.  Got a regular service rep.   Now got Tahalia on the phone.  Meanwhile I have to go through the whole story each time as if it's not right in front of them on their computer.  On hold again. 


Told by Taharia they are still within thier  window and when they Have more info I will get a call.  Again no call !!

I have a bunch of other info and paperwork to back up my claim.  I have an inch and a half thick file with all info including more notes that document phone conversations and email correspondents with American Van Lines.
