United home relief, signed up with jim and alicia in late '08. Jim promise me that he WOULD modify my loan and that he swore it would take no more than 8 mons. he then set up a price for me. 2500.00 and said i cud pay 500 a month. some times i gave him 400. every 2 weeks he was on the phone with me bad mouthing all the clients that didnt pay but was happy that i always sent him a bank check every month. he gave me his ups account number and said i didnt have to pay for it to be sent overnight.(i shud have known then). all the while i thought he was tking care of my loan, i was served with papers by a sherrifs office. he just kept telling me that no one is gonna take my house. all the while i was being called by my bank. Jim kept telling me that he was working on it and i wud call loss mitigation and there were no calls by United home relief. after i paid all my money, they sent me to Dean Mastrangelo a public attorney. Dean almost never answered his phone calls and when he did, he had no recolection about my file. they asked me for proof of payments and since i paid alot in money orders, i only have proof of paying 1800.00. i am going to contact States Attorneys office to have them put in jail. i hope no one else falls for their smooth talking bullsh*t. not to mention how he flirted with me on the phone. his wife shud only know! |

Please be advised that I am Dean Mastrangelo. Jim McInerney asked me to help him with his files after he closed his office. He told me that he had tons of clients that received a modification but they had refused to pay him. I was under the impression that he needed help with collections. I helped him for a couple of days and then I told him to go with someone else. He needed more help than my one attorney law practice could handle. I never agreed to accept his files and I never accepted any money or fees from him or any of his clients. I had nothing to do with United Home Relief. I am sorry that he misled you, but I had nothing to do with his operation.
I always answer my phone unless I am with a client, in court, or it is after hours. All of my phone calls are forwarded to my cell phone when I am not in. If a message is left, I call back at my earliest opportunity. If you left a message, you were called back. Jim gave my phone number out to hundreds of people. My phone lines were tied up for weeks because of him. When Jim contacted me told me he needed help with 10-15 files. The actual number was well over a hundred. Each file was 100+ pages and it was not possible for me to know every detail of every file over the few days I looked at them.
If you feel that you have victimized by United Home Relief and JIm, I would encourage you to contact the authorities. Please be advised that he was investigated by the Suffolk County DA and they declined to bring charges.
