United Freight of America UFA Unprofessional, incompetent liars. Fort Lauderdale, Florida |
10th of Dec, 2011 by User903346 |
We moved from Arkansas to Washington State in December. I contacted United Freight of America early November and talked to "Jess". I said that I wanted to have my car picked up the day before or after Thanksgiving, so that it would arrive in WA before us or just after us, since we were moving out of the State on the 1st of December. On my part I was waiting to have the confirmation to be 100% sure of our moving date, and I asked her if that would be a problem. She said she would start looking for a truck, and that it would be no problem finding a transporter as soon as I had the confirmation, even if it was a couple of days before the requested moving date (around the 25). I had the confirmation 10 days before the date, and called right away. She said they would let me know when somebody would pick up the car. The days went by and everytime I tried to call her, or email her, I would get no response. I finally got an email saying that they were looking for a truck and would update me when they had something concrete. The "dispatch manager" finally called, on the 29th (so, 2 days before we moved out of the State), and said the only way they could get a truck to take my car would be to pay $100 more than what was previously agreed. They know what they are doing, they know that people don't really have a choice at the last minute, and so I told him I was really unhappy and "only" paid $50 more, which is still $50 too much! So they said the truck would come on the 30th. It didn't. Then they said it would be on the 1st. I told them the movers were coming to empty the house on the 1st and that I would have to wait with two babies in an empty house for them, and I needed to fly out of State that afternoon. They said we should find somebody to take care of it then. As we don't have any family members nearby, we asked to cancel the transaction and go with another company since they were not doing what they promised but they wouldn't give us our money back so we had to go with that. They did not come on the 1st. We flew out and our car was still there. We got lucky that a friend of ours accepted to take care of it. They said they would come on the 2nd. They didn't. Same thing on the 3rd. And all along our friends were waiting, we were all trying to get in touch with the trucking company and 9 times out of 10 we couldn't. They finally came on the 4th of December!! They delivered the car on the 10th, calling us 10 minutes before we had to meet them in a parking lot! The trucking company is Quickway LLC out of Washington State, and they are as bad as United Freight of America! |
