U.S. Buildings Ripoff,Sales Scam Boone, North Carolina |

I purchased a 30x30 metal building from Mike McGinn of U.S. buildings may 2011. He showed up at my house one evening after work around 6pm. I told him what i was looking for in a metal building. He made a call to his supervisor and told me they had one that size that somebody canceled after a big down payment and he could give me a deal on it, which was just a sales pitch. He asked me if i wanted a verticle or horizonall roof. Horizonal isnt even comonnly used on a full sized building. I told him a normal roof that rain runs off both sides. After i gave him two thousand dollars down he put hoizonal on the paper and i signed it not knowing this type of roof. Ive tried to contact Mike every since that day with no response. Then I recieve the building parts and a instruction sheet that only contains instructions for a normal verticle roof. I contacted U.S. buildings and they said that i had ordered a horizonal roof and it would work. I went ahead and put the entire building together. The city building inspector came to inspect it and called me back and asked why did i put the roof on that way? I told him thats what they sent me and said it would work. He said it was going to leak and he contacted u.s. buildings. Mr. Messer told him that I had signed a contract saying horizonal roof, with no answer about how it wasnt going to leak. So on the next big rain it leaked down both ends and different spots in the middle, you can see light through it from the inside looking up in several places. After calling and complaing Mr. Messer wanted pictures of the roof and trim. I sent them all the pictures they wanted and i called him in a couple of days and he said everything looked right. I asked him how i could fix the leaking and he said he could sell me a weatherstripping to stop the leaking on the ends"a band-aid", with no answer to the other leaking spots. They still havent sent me no instructions for this horizonal roof, apparently they do not have any. I even talked to the gm of the company and he agreed that this roof is not right for this building. He said he would have the salesman, Mike McGinn contact me. Its been 10 days and havent heard nothing. The material cost on a correct roof would bee a few hundred dollars more, that difference i believe went into Mr McGinns pocket. They just to refuse to help me with my problem, a new roof shouldnt leak period. Ive been had, and all they can say is you signed this contract for a horizonal roof. They still dont have any instruction for it. |

Most of those metal steel frame building places use that sales method. They are franchisees who do not manufacture the buildings at all, nor are they purchasing or shipping agents. They are sales people using an extremely unethical sales tactic. They are quoting you the highest possible price; there is no building that another customer ordered then subsequently cancelled and they are out-right lying to you. Think about it. They have all these buildings sitting around? What BS. |
