tom o'bien hyundai Attempted Ripoff Thwarted !!! quincy, Massachusetts

Tom O'brien Hyundai is a car dealership and, they do car repair also. i was always told that the dealer was more expensive for car repair than a" joe'e car repair shop" .i drive a 2001 hyundai elantra. lately i've been experiencing transmission problems.so i thought the hyundai dealer would be the expert.wrong!! after doing a dianogstics test ,i needed (3) parts throttle position sensor,purge valve,and range safety switch,and was told the price for repair would be $800 with the tax. iwas told that it was all i needed and i would be on my way. i got them down to $700,and the worked began.phone call next day from them informed me that the worked they performed did not fix the problem.they stated they would not charge me for the labor but i would be held liable for the new parts they put in. the (3) parts they put in came to $300. i protested to the manager,because iwas not told that this repair job might or might not work.i was told it was a sure thing. the only way i got out of paying was mentioning a lawyer,right away they folded and i got my car. for days after i wondered why they folded so quick.so i looked up the price of hyundai replacement parts that were put on my car.all(3) came to a total of $155.46 far from $300 they were trying to charge me.i also looked for those parts under my hood ,and they were right there in front of me (2) scews and un-snapped it was (5) minutes worth of work. 30 minutes total for all (3) parts,and they were trying to charge me around $400 in labor charges. thank God the repair did not fix the problem,because i would of paid $700 for a (at the most) $255 repair job.
