Didn't show up to honor contract/do the work - can't get in touch with him |

Zac Ripper and his Tip Top Remodeling, Inc. had replaced our roof 2 years ago - he was doing the neighbors roof so we had him do ours right afterwards. We had no problems - he even sent a person back out to fix a leaky skylight.
This summer one of the skylights broke in a hail storm. The insurance adjuster asked if we wanted him to examine the roof for hail damage while he was up there looking at the broken skylight. To our surprise, he came down and told us we needed a new roof! Our insurance company issued us a check.
So, we called Tip Top Remodeling back - figured they did okay the first time - replaced several sheets of plywood on the roof and figured it would be an easier job this time around. Zac came out promptly and took the deposit of nearly $3000 and cashed it within days. They did not show up to do the work on the scheduled date - nor the days that followed, and we could not get in touch with him - he was not answering his phone or emails. FINALLY, somehow, my husband got in touch with him - and he said he'd been "sick", and so we set up another date - this week - for the new roof installation. Again, no show and no communication. We drove to the address listed on the Better Business Bureaus' site, but was told "he didn't live there anymore".
Now we see all these complaints and warnings about him. Think we've been scammed . . . |
