TILE & ALL (Monica Marchetti & George Hanouf) GRANITE & CABINETS TO GO INC. Monica Marchetti & George Hanouf never finish their works, I will see them |
8th of Dec, 2011 by User405001 |
Attention people! Do not use Monica Marchetti and George Hanouf services. I had entered a contract with GRANITE & CABINETS TO GO INC. on Sept 30, 2011 to replace my kitchen counter top with granite in my house in Katy, TX, and work didn't get started until Oct 10, 2011. Now my gas stove wouldn't go back into its original spot because the installer had left the granite counter top opening spot for the gas stove a little bit too narrow (The gas stove is 30 inches wide, but opening gap is only 29.5 inches wide). Another problem was couple of my A/C plugs on the wall were not completely covered with tiles and grout (when I put the covers plates back to cover the A/C plugs, I could still see the wiring inside the wall) I called George (832--696-4915) about the problems, he said I need to send him pictures for him to see. I emailed George the pictures at [email protected] (as printed on the contract form). After I have sent pictures to George via email, I have never heard from George or Monica again no matter how many time I have called. On Dec 05, 2011, I decided to walk into their store at 14300 Northwest Freeway, Suite B22 Houston, TX, 77040, and none of them was there. However, they had a manager onsite by the named of DAVID (832-433-5583, he's a heavy set man and about 25 years old). After listened and seen the pictures I have brought to show the current situation of my kitchen, David promises that he will repair my kitchen as soon as possible. Today, Dec 09, 2011, after so many calls from me and broken promises made from David, now he's saying George is not obligate to repair my kitchen because he can't find any subcontractor who is willing to out to my house and have it fixed. George and Monica has created another store and relocated to GRANITE & CABINETS TO GO and under another name TILE & ALL at 14300 Northwest Freeway, Suite B22 Houston, TX 77040 Telephone: 832-890-9922 email: [email protected] |

Attention people. Both of these costumers have misconstrued the facts of their situations.
Pat was informed that the subcontractors that did the work for him were no longer working with out company. On his contract it clearly stated payment was due upon completion of the work. He payed the guys so we were under the assumption that he had inspected their work and everything was good.
After 2 months Mr. Nguyen decided to inform us that he had an issue with his installation, it was only about a half inch that needed reduced on the stove side to make it fit. He did not give us adequate time to find a contractor to repair his job when he informed us of the issue. He showed up to the store with an extremely condescending attitude and spoke with me (David) about the issue. I told him that I would get it fixed for him, and to this day we still have those intentions, we do not leave a job unfinished and incorrect. However each time I spoke to him (and he called often, about every 2-5 minutes, he became irate one time because I didn't answer him while I was in the bathroom) he became more and more demanding setting time limits for a situation that obviously needed time to be remedied.
We let him know that we would put him on the schedule as soon as possible but that he had to understand that these were sub-contractors that could choose to take my job or deny it, so I asked him to be patient. He responded to this by condescending me and yelling at me over a situation that I could not control. Finally, I informed him that in order for us to fix his problem, he had to show understanding and be willing to work with us, and also he needed to stop treating us so disrespectfully.
We as a company do not deny any mistakes made by our installers should there ever be one because no one is perfect, but our company always does the right thing and gets the job fixed and done right.
Even after seeing these postings from Pat, and even after the fact the he has invested his time into slandering our good name we are still willing to work with him to get his matter resolved. It is just the type of company we are, we always like to make sure that our customers are satisfied and taken care of.
As for Mrs.Vargas, her situation is different, she made last minute changes and her material of choice to a material that was more exotic and had veins. She originally ordered Luna Pearl, it is what was written on her contract. On the day of her installation the installer went out to her house with the material on the contract. Upon seeing it she said it was wrong, she didn't like it, and she wanted to change it. In order to make changes to your contract we stipulate that a 25% restocking fee will be charges, and on top of this there is a delivery charge associated with installation. We did not charge her the 25% restocking fee or the delivery fee even though she lives 1hr away and it was in traffic just so that we could make her happy. In order to make this installation work another piece was needed to make the veins go in the correct direction, she refused to pay for the other piece and demanded we cover it. Not only did she refuse to pay for another piece but she cancelled the check given to the installer for the work that he had already completed. We offered to absorb 75% of the cost of the piece and even the installation for it, and still this was not good enough.
Both of these situations we are willing to remedy but the customers lack of communication and understanding with us is what makes it difficult to resolve. You can not believe everything you read on the internet. Please don't let two individuals who are misconstruing the facts be the reason you miss out on our great quality, prices, and customer service. We are here to make you happy, if you don't believe us, feel free to come meet us and even call some of our many satisfied customers to hear their stories. |

We have been in business for many years, and I can't stress the fact that neither George nor Monica have ripped anyone off. They hire subcontractors to delivered the material that is purchased and install the job. Servicing a large volume of customers means that every now and again, due to circumstances beyond our control an issue may arise, but if the contractor messes up George and Monica are the people the get slandered.
I just want everyone to be a little more informed on the situation so that through understanding we can come to a mutually beneficial arrangement and change lives one new kitchen at a time. |

I have a similar experience as the two customers who have voiced their complaints. I had an install date of X, but it lingered for two weeks. I believe that my granite was ultimately installed only because I harassed and hounded them via phone by calling *everyone* who worked for them, and then finally getting their attention by contacting them through the chat feature on their website.
They are terrible at managing expectations because their only real concern appears to "landing the sale." They cashed my check the very day we wrote it, and had to be reminded on the date of install, at approximately 11 a.m., that they had a job to do that day. When the job continued to be unfinished and my anxieties were mounting, the business folks at Tile & All/ Granite and Cabinets to Go appeared annoyed by my concerns, often appearing to actively ignore my calls. After the work was finally completed, no one representing Tile & All/ Granite and Cabinets to Go came to my home to inspect the job. I could have probably gone to a Home Depot parking lot and picked up a truck of day laborers myself, because other than landing the sale and obtaining the materials, these are the types of contractors they appear to employ. In other words, don't expect to be able to communicate with your installer.
I *Would Not* recommend this company. My kitchen now looks amazing, but the process of working with Tile & All/ Granite and Cabinets to Go was traumatic. They were inexpensive, but could write the book on unprofessional. Suck it up, pay the big bucks, and go with a reputable company.
**A Personal Message to Monica and George** Write a one-page document outlining some of the things your customers can expect from your company and contractors during the installation of materials. George "over promised" on the day he came to my house because he said, "Your job will be started and finished on X date (one day)." However, had he included with my contract an information sheet indicating that 1) the job can take up to a month to complete, depending upon the contractors; 2) contractors may or may not arrive on time, 3) Tile & All/ Granite and Cabinets to Go nevertheless promises to install the product in spite of challenges, well, then I'd be happier and so would all these angry people on this and other websites. Monica and George, you should be ashamed of the job you've done with your company. However, you can improve! Please do so and don't simply disregard these types of messages; you stand to make more money and do much better if you listen to your customers and respond. Best of luck to you and your company. |
