The Yellow Page Network |
misinformation and sales pitch |
30th of Aug, 2011 by Scotty |
They called saying it was simply to verify information to renew my yellow page add, just as I had done in the past. They said they were the "official" yellow pages that come up with a google search (untrue - they do not show up on the first 12 pages of a google search for "yellow pages"), and were the ones with which we are familiar with the walking fingers. |

I just received a call from a Mr. Taylor at yellowpagesnetwork.com 1866-928-6410 ext 617 informing me about an order for yellowpages business to business ad which he claims was made by one of my employees. He played a recording of one of my assistants giving information about the business and unknowingly confirming the sale.
I informed him that she was in no way authorized to make that decision. Of course he threatened legal consequences and I told him that I would not be paying this bill.
Is there some entity to which I can complain for this action? |

I had the a simlar problem. They called me and tricked me into answering some questions and when I called back to say that I didn't really want the service, they had only a recording of the conversation that makes ME look bad, but not the beggining of it. Does anyone know what should I do? They are theatening to send me to collection, and I don't want that on my credit.
Thanks for any help |

Steven at 866-928-6410 X 618 from Yellow Pages Network called and said we were past due on an account.
l discovered that they had led one of our employees to believe that she was authorizing a current Yellow Pages advertising account with our business. They say she authorized it for two years. I heard the recording - and she did give some form of verbal authorization. She has no authority to act financially on the behalf of our organization. They want to bill us monthly, and are threatening us. I will not pay them anything. |

are you all 12 years old? You are liable for anything you order over the phone or anything your employees order over the phone, , You say that your employee wasn't authorized! Too bad, you should have taught them not to pick up the phone and order advertising for your company.. You are Liable and in Court you would lose because the Judge will tell you to grow up and talk to you like you are 12. |

Klyde, your input to this conversation is really very helpful. Way to be a grown up to all us 12 yr olds.
This company does use deceptive tactics and does record the part of the conversation that does not include the outright lies they tell you to confirm what you think is your already existing advertising account. And if reported as such to the FTC, you are NOT liable to pay this bill. Klyde, a judge will tell you that! It's a scam! Unortunatley, they exist. |
