Total Misrepresentation and getting scammed |
29th of Aug, 2011 by clmiller |
We have been scammed by The Vacation Place Online. We received a postcard inviting us to attend a presentation by their company and were told that this was not a timeshare. We were also offered a free cruise, whether we purchased anything or not. After listening to their presentation, which sounded like a wonderful opportunity to travel and save money, we hesitated to purchase because of the $$$$. We were originally told that the package cost quite a large amount of money and after we decided against purchasing it, were given a substantial discount. WE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN AT THAT POINT THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG. They were required to give us a 3-day period to back out. We were not able to log in or obtain any information regarding the company for weeks so therefore, had no way of knowing this was a scam. We tried contacting the company over and over without success. The phone would take a message and no one would return our calls, or the message would say the mailbox was full. We finally talked to someone in the S. C. office and were given several phone numbers to call. Every person we were referred to responded with many other numbers to call. We were continuously given a series of names and numbers and still no answers at all. We finally got in touch with the sales supervisor of the sales rep that sold us the package. We told her we were totally dissatisfied and wanted our money back because nothing we were promised was true. She promised to talk to her superiors and get back to us within two days. After another week, we called her again and she said she did not know how to approach her boss. We told her to get us an answer immediately. Guess what? No answer and yes, we have been scammed. None of what was told to us in the presentation is true. We have gotten nothing from joining this club! We lost thousands of dollars and have never received passwords through the mail, or anything else for that matter, as promised, We even sent the money for processing our "free" cruise. That has now been five weeks and we were told it would be sent back to us in two weeks. We were scammed on that deal as well. Please DO NOT PURCHASE the vacation place online package. We have been lied to from the time we stepped into the presention by this company. DO NOT GET SCAMMED LIKE US! Do not purchase anything from The Vacation Place/World Vacation Brokers/The VacationPlaceOnline. You will definitely be disappointed and lose a lot of money like we did. We are going the next step to take legal action. If you have had problems, please post on her as well. |
