Reader's Digest sent a box which states on the outside " you have been sent a Free Gift plus a new customer bonus gift! -- SEE INSIDE -- ". The problem is I did not ask to be a "New Customer" of Reader's Digest. I did not order any reading material. I opened the box to see if there was correspondence with a phone number inside so I could call and advise I was returning the items. No correspondence was inside the box. The address on the box read, "The Reader's Digest Association, Inc.,
7501 Winstead Drive, Louisville, KY 40281." Being suspicious of their "Free Gift", I am holding the item in it's original box just in case I get billed for it. If I get a bill I will not pay and will make a formal complaint to the police. |

| I mirror the complaint made by the above writer. I have on hand a package, not opened, from your organization. I did not request this package nor will I be responsible for the return of the item, unless you suppy postage.Please advise as to your intension |

I too received a pkg that I did ask for from readers digest. Also they say in their brief letter that more books are coming. There is no phone number to call and no address on the letter. I do not want this book or anyother books. They are ripping this senior citizen off!!! Help!!!

Yada yada yada...got the same thing with package and gift crap, I called their number which I got from another party it is !-800-310-2181, and guess where it is...the Philippines!!! So much for that, I explained problem, got transferred, said they will take care of it. I informed them that if I get any more packages that I did not order ever it would end up in the trash along with any related bill/invoice for the same.
Sending out products like this w/o being requested/ordered is illegal!!! While speaking or trying my best to communicate with these Readers Digest Philippine associates I insisted they give me phone number for the location where package comes from at Readers Digest 7501 Winstead Drive, Louisville, Ky 40201, However they/she refused to give out number, said she could not do that. Reportedly told me any items shown for me would be cancelled and I would not get this anymore...this I gotta see.
They are a pain in the butt if you know what I mean. You can file a rip off report as I did with the agency that comes up when you Google- Readers Digest Association, Inc..
Don't take this from them...they are preying on us to accidentally pay for this junk. Hang in there and let them know us seniors are not stupid, we are wiser then they can imagine!!! |
